George, I have an air force question. Maybe you know the answer. It came from watching a random small plane and a helicoptor tonight. If the air force was going to put all of it's planes (that are in the states) in the sky at once over the US including Alaska and Hawaii, how many planes would that be? Would they be spread out thin or would they be seen as many everywhere? What would it look like if they all went up at once? And wouldn't that be terrifying?

I think that I am not the only one that has no idea what the military has of anything but I am just wondering about planes.

Can you crunch the numbers?

Just sitting here and I got that it is called a scramble.

But for some reason I am talking about all planes not just fighter jets.

That is a complex question . . . many of the US Air Force aircraft are stationed overseas . . . and of course the army has most of the helicopters . . . half of the Navy's and Marine's aircraft are out at sea . . . so if you just use Air Force, National Guard and Air Force Reserve the number is substantial but not enormous by any means . . . I don't think they could blanket the nation at all . . . there are many, many, many more commercial aircraft . . . and with thousands of commercial flights each day they hardly blanket the nation unless you allow them a 24 hour window . . .

My brother asked me a few years ago if I would come to Maui if say he went blind (macular degeneration) and I said yes that I would come and drive to all the places I liked and he would never know where we were. Anyway, I agreed to be there if he ever was in a position to not be there on his own. He'll be sick but mostly during chemo only and maybe not so much.

Today I have all the materials to paint a stick I will find in the yard striped and multicolored and then I will glue gun a feather boa to a sorta big styrofoam ball and stick it on the stick in a cute pot (I don't have a really cute pot yet) and it will be artsy fartsy. It might turn out cute or it could go the direction of tacky, then again some use the word whimsical. I picked a bright lime green feather boa. This is my goal for the day. What's yours?

I am painting my stick now. It is kind of hard to paint straight lines on a stick. I had a sister that was talented in sewing and crafts and I thought of her today. She would figure out how to paint straight lines on a stick and her stick would be perfect.

It's a masterpiece. An object d'art. I really did it this time and this means I have finally moved into my house. It's a sign.
