Anonymous Coward User ID: 17217094 United States 06/03/2012 08:57 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Shouldn't all "African" Americans come together to assist their brethren? They sure as hell jump on the bandwagon to claim "African" American status in order to receive taxpayer funded entitlements. Yet I never see or hear one "African" American speaking out against the atrocities committed in African countries against their African brothers and sisters. Never! I don't get the hypocrisy. I guess now I'll be labeled a "racist" because you're not supposed to question the motives of "African" Americans. No, you are not a racist, just misinformed. Most African Americans have very little in common with Africans except skin color, nothing else! The bonds between African Americans and Africa were efficiently and forcefully severed a few hundred years ago by former slave holders. African Americans view Africans just like any other foreigners. There is no kinship there. Btw.. have you talked to any Africans lately. The ones i know from Cameron, Congo and Keyna are industrious and hard working. I know because i work with them at my job. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 14708718 United States 06/03/2012 08:58 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Wow- this sounds like one HUGE clusterf**k. Quoting: snark Chaos broke out in the densely-populated Lagos neighbourhood where a passenger jet crashed Sunday, as rescue workers faced heavy crowds and aggressive soldiers while trying to access smoldering wreckage. All 153 people on board the Dana Air flight were presumed dead and more were believed to have been killed on the ground after the plane plowed into the impoverished neighbourhood near the airport in the city of some 15 million. Thousands of onlookers had partially blocked access to the crash site, prompting soldiers to try to clear the area out. They used rubber whips, their fists and even threw a wood plank at those crowded around. The strong-arm tactics likely did more harm than good. Looking to evade the troops' aggression, people took off in several directions, trampling their neighbours as they tried to avoid being crushed themselves. Some locals snaked a fire hose hoisted on their shoulders from a truck parked on the road towards the impact area. But this effort was also interrupted by the security forces, whose aggression eventually broke up the human chain. Some reacted by throwing stones at the troops, creating a crossfire of hailing rocks over the narrow street adjacent to the site. The area also plunged into all-out pandemonium when a helicopter tried to land amid the crowd, kicking up clouds of ash and light debris that again scattered people in various directions. After the crash, it appeared only a handful of rescue vehicles had managed to fight through the chaos to reach the site. [link to ca.news.yahoo.com] huh. almost sounds like the soldiers were there to make sure no one lived ? was this a coup? |

I know because i work with them at my job. africans are actually a threat. i learned some time ago that they prefer the term blacks for africans. and they don't want blacks receiving the same sorts of privileges and funding they believe should be reserved for "african americans". otherwise, i think you might see more kinship, and less tribalism. |

But that's not newsworthy. Remember TV,Radio and newspapers need something that drives the ratings. Positive stories like Blacks helping Blacks does not drive ratings. Remember the Media craves higher ratings and higher ad revenues, which means a higher paycheck for the media CEO's. |
