Anonymous Coward User ID: 19327417 Brazil 07/08/2012 06:12 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The Ten Commandments seen at the movie theatres on the HUGE screen actually impressed me so much that I day-dreamed about going to Egypt.... which I did when I grew up. More than that since the Red Sea split was so impressive and it was like a boiling waterfall going upwards I wanted to see with my own eyes something like that and hence not only I went to the Red Sea but to Iguazu Falls both from Argentina and Brazilian frontier and also to Niagara Falls in the Canadian side. Of course the modern carts in Cairo (there were about 350 at the time) wasn't exactly like driving a chariot like someone from Pharaoh's army but it certainly helped. |

Ayahuasca didn't work at all with me for several reasons. In a similar topic I recomend two films ALTERED STATES and bloody mystical Spanish "western" EL TOPO, check the trailers I set here Thread: Please recommend a good film to watch! (Page 4) Regarding books in that sense I suggest shaman Carlos Castañeda, The herb of the Devil and Huxley's classic ones. |

This flying thing - daddy long legs I think you call it - which head been dive-bombing us all day, sat down right in the sweet spot between the speakers and remained there till the recording finished. Weirded me out, I can tell you. |

Much of it made sense to me, and helped me understand a few things I was having trouble with at the time. Quoting: exiled1 Destiny of Souls: New Case Studies of Life Between Lives by Michael Newton Ph.D. rereading title of thread, not sure this is type of thing you were looking for..but any way.. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 11171736 Many years later an audio by Thich Nhat Hanh reminded me how beautiful the world can be. For me it all started with the band Between the Buried and Me. At the time I was just a kid that listened to hard rock and hints of metal (the heaviest I could stand were bands like Lamb of God). Then one day I discovered BTBAM and my entire world exploded. One minute brutal guitar riffs and loud vocals, the next minute the most beautiful melody I've ever heard with a groove like no other. I was much more close minded until their music entered my world. I always saw things a certain way but after experiencing BTBAM I slowly became more open with everything. Their combinations of literally every genre of music you can think of made me realize that anything is possible, and that the human mind is unstoppable when it doesn't limit itself to predetermined standards. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 18966932 New Zealand 07/10/2012 07:29 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | 10 years ago...my life was in a complete mess, everything was spiralling out of control, I was addicted to drugs and I was in deep trouble, I was either gong to jail or be 6ft under...I couldnt turn to anyone, neither my friends or family for help...then I literally got on my knees and called out to God to help me, I confessed all my faults to him, and with tears pouring down my face I told Him that I really needed His help or else things were not going to end well for me...I wasnt sure that I was going to get an answer, because years before I had prayed twice before for His help but didnt get the answer or help that I had hoped for (I wasnt a true believer back then)....but this time miracles happened and I instantly felt my burdens lift from my shoulders...my addiction was instantly gone...amazing!..my whole life changed from that point in time...I later attended a church and became a born again Christian...more miracles followed that I couldnt explain but could only attribute them to God's grace and mercy. Jesus is my Lord and Saviour and I am thankful that by His death and resurrection, my sins are forgiven and I will have eternal life. Thank you Lord!! |

Quoting: B 17493445 After watching that, what was left of my religious beliefs went out the window. I almost wish i never saw it. I miss being blissfully ignorant. Then i started coming on this website....ugh...what was i thinking??!! Lol. All this site does is give me anxiety. But ive learned a lot. I saw a clip from that where Bill Maher was attacking the leader of the Natorei Karta sect of Orthodox Judaism for being opposed to Zionism. If anyone is locked into an insane belief system, it is Bill Maher. What an arrogant shill. Anyway, the book that changed my life was Worlds in collision by Immanuel Velikovsky. I was 11 years old when I read it. It made me see the Bible as an important historical document. Till then, I hadn't paid it much attention. the mystery behind the bible is ...Asking the Holy Spirit to guild you in the name of Jesus, then even if you have the faith of a mustard seed ...it will grow. your faith and understanding. the word is like a onion it has layers of thought. it was made a metaphor on purpose. its really the word became flesh. the lord can speak to each of us thru it. now what |
