They certainly are relying hard on the bath salt issue as a means to cover somethin' up. Strange...

If their were to be forced 'Zombie' attacks the Drug you'd use is called Scopolamine, just a smell of the aroma and they will do anything, and I mean anything you tell them to.

Re: Whelp, ANOTHER cannibal/zombie attack (Louisiana)
and btw, that is SO not the same thing.
not a cannibal case OR even zombie-esque.

now not every biting attack should be considered "another" cannibal/zombie attack.

i think certain criteria should be set out from here forth deciding what should even be of SERIOUS concern, as that really freaky ACTUALLY zombie-esque attack.

for one, dude was naked, i think nakedness---that maybe should be one of the criteria....as it seems like a lot of weird naked behavior has been happening, which is a lot stranger than some tweeker looking dude flipping out on his (probably) tweeker friend and attacking him.

the rudy eugene guy seemed very disoriented and i can imagine that if he had lived he would have had no memory of what he had done....and maybe of what even led up to whatever 'came over him'. there have been other cases, like vampire girl attacks wheel chair dude and ends up naked and clueless as to what happened.

so disorientation should definitely be criteria too.

i don't even think that actually eating someone necessarily needs to be part of the criteria, maybe it doesn't get to that point, maybe for some thats not really the extent it takes them due to their own potential for psychosis...or violence.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 17448775

I agree with some of this, but I'm not sure if it can be easily categorized. If we were talking about a movie, then yeah, it would be easy. For it to be, as you put it "ACTUALLY zombie-esque", then it would require cannibalism itself, not just biting. Nudity would be optional.

The only other case that would REALLY fit would be an incident that happened (yes, you guessed it) in Miami the month before. [link to www.miamiherald.com]

I don't know if he planned on actually eating the guy's flesh; he didn't make it far enough to find out.
 Quoting: Nothing Is Easy

i definitely should have used a different term.

i just meant that other people are saying zombies, that rudy guy did seem zombie-esque but maybe whatever he had, or had ingested, just had that effect on him...maybe he had been under the effects longer and so it was more intense at the time he saw Ronald.

but there are many similar cases of disorientation, aggression and nudity....i mean, even the rash of bizarre acting nude people seem more likely related than a typical tweeker fight. even those can get strange or brutal, but dude in this case was already mad about something and was calculated about attacking his friend. he didn't just have some extreme psychotic break and throw any intestines around, did he?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 17448775

I hope you don't misunderstand me. I agree with you that not all "biting" incidences would fit a "zombie" category. In this particular case, I think you're right.

What caught my interest was that he bit a chunk out of the guy's face. It didn't say he ate it, and he wasn't nude. And it didn't say he kept biting. I just found it unusual. Most of the recent stories about biting don't fit a zombie MO.

Just for the record, I don't define a zombie as being undead. To me, anyone who acts as a mindless cannibal fits the bill, whatever the cause.

So if something is causing this, and it's not bath salts, what are the theories out there? Besides mad cow.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 9653504

"Synthia" could be one. [link to www.nytimes.com]

On May 14, a 55 gallon barrel washed up on the beach in Hollywood, Florida. Nobody knows where it came from, or what was in it, just that it began smoking when it was cracked open. HazMat blew it up. [link to www.miamiherald.com]

Two days later, 12 students and 2 teachers at MacArthur High School, just a few miles away, developed a mysterious rash. The cause is still unknown. [link to miami.cbslocal.com]

A week later, (May 23), another Broward County school (Lauderdale Lakes Middle School) had an outbreak of unexplained rashes; 4 students and 1 teacher involved this time. [link to www.miamiherald.com]

The night before the Miami attack, Rudy Eugene spent the night with his girlfriend in Miami Gardens, only a few miles from MacArthur High School; she said he was acting strange even the night before the attack. [link to miami.cbslocal.com]

If you'll notice, these are all reputable sources for all of these facts.

So we have a synthetic bacteria made by the company that produces bacteria that eats oil spills.
We have an unidentified substance blown up on a beach.
We have unexplained mystery rashes in two Miami schools.
We have a guy who spends the night close to one of the schools and goes zombie on someone the next day.

A little over a week later, we have someone who bites a chunk out of someone's face west and a little north of where all this happened...

Draw your own conclusions.

Re: Whelp, ANOTHER cannibal/zombie attack (Louisiana)
So many problems here! First they reference the Florida incident and say it was bath salts, when bath salts have never been found or proven to be involved in any fashion. Nonetheless everyone keeps saying the Florida incident was from bath salts as if it was fact. It was all started by one police spokesman throwing it out as a possibility and now the whole world is abuzz about something for which there is zero evidence whatsoever. That's how they start this article. Then they refer to "excited delirium" which is a completely fake "medical condition" that was concocted by Taser International lawyers to explain away taser deaths as if they were caused by this fictional physical state for which there had never been any previous description or evidence, nor any acceptance by the medical community. Then they suggest that this Louisiana face biter was on bath salts as well even though they have zero proof of any involvement whatsoever with bath salts.

I guess everyone is just going to keep saying bath salts forevermore because in a matter of weeks it has become accepted as fact even though there is literally zero evidence that any of these incidents has anything to do with "bath salts", which is a vague term that does not apply absolutely to any specific drug but merely a possible range of research chemicals that may have been sold as "bath salts" in head shops, or not. So it's meaningless as well.

Yet all this is accepted as fact, and it's on the tips of everyone's tongues everywhere you go. Nothing but lies.

It's interesting, but couldn't be as effective as advertised.

Why? Columbia doesn't rule the world. With something that effective, they would. You talk to an ambassador, he's under your control. He arranges a meeting with a country's leader, he's under your control. According to internet sources, it grows wild all around their city, let alone the countryside. You put it in a population's water supply, you control the entire population. Doesn't make sense.

Another thing to consider is that they've been experimenting with scopolamine since the early 20th century. Why did the CIA prefer sodium pentathol to scopolamine, if it was so effective? An overdose can be just as fatal.

As for the stories in Columbia, why is it only in Columbia? The drug exists worldwide, but you don't hear these stories from anywhere else.

I did google it, and the websites I checked out spoke more about how it was experimented with briefly as a truth serum.

That brings the number up to around 10. It's getting harder to call it a statistical coincidence.

One more time..Scopolamine,also known as "The Devil's Breath".

Google it or watch the above video.

It was experimented with as a Truth Serum, yes.

Does'nt in anyway detract from the facts about that Drugs uses.
The thing that hath been,
is That which shall be;
and that which is done is that which shall be done:and there is no new thing under the Sun.
Ecclesiastes 9:1
