Can you imagine how they felt?

June 5th, the night before D-Day.
May we remember that on this night in history, June 5th, 1944, the brave soldiers preparing for the assault that would take place the following morning.
The soldiers, (many of whom) knew that they would not live to see June 7th.
For many, this was their last night here on earth.
I thank them with all of my heart for what they have sacrificed.

The hopes and prayers of liberty-loving people everywhere march with you. In company with our brave Allies and brothers-in-arms on other Fronts, you will bring about the destruction of the German war machine, the elimination of Nazi tyranny over the oppressed peoples of Europe, and security for ourselves in a free world."
