<< "Little children, keep yourselves from IDOLS (that is, false gods, or false ideas and representations of the true God)" (I Jn. 5:21). Do we have false ideas about God? I fear we do. We say that God is all-wise, all-knowing, and all-powerful, and then turn around and deny it. We say that God "so loved the world" and that Jesus is "the Saviour of the world" and then turn around and say that only a few will be saved while God sends the vast majority to suffer the excruciating pains of fire and brimstone for all eternity without His feeling any concern for their suffering - without mercy! >>

"We say," "we say," we say."

You say...that :"we have false ideas and representations of the true God." Yet you deny the very instruction HE gave to us. His word says that there is a way, and HIS SON JESUS made the way and is the way the truth and the life no man comes to the FATHER but by HIM. HE came into this world because HE so loved the world. He has shown us the way yet since the time of JESUS (and before) people still chose their own way.

Here is what HE SAYS and HIS love is evident in all of it.

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

Proverbs 28:26 He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.

Ezekiel 33:13 When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it.

James 4:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

We can trust in HIM and believe HIS instruction, or we can trust false idols and false ideas that incline our own and/or another persons opinion. Yet in the end...none of us can say that we didn't have HIS instruction.

Every person has a choice.

Okay?

So...when do we get to the point of the thread?
watching the "run up" to the elections and the "hopes and dreams" that are built as a result is like watching a dead mouse that is still able to make his exercise wheel go around because his nerves are still twitching that familiar motion...

Matthew 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Matthew 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Proverbs 26:11 As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly.

Keep trusting in your own way and your own ideas (idolatry.) The things that you say are not new people have been saying the same thing since the beginning. Again, trust in yourself, trust in the opinions of man, or trust in GOD.

But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

Joshua 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

Re: "Their Christ is a comparatively helpless and puny Saviour who is going to lose most of those for whom He died"
Chronos and Kairos. Both are Greek words which mean time, but they imply different things.

Chronos refers to minutes and seconds. It refers to time as a measurable resource.

Kairos is used in Ephesians Ch. 5,

Ephesians 5:16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

Before you use biblical terms, try looking into what they really mean.

If you are referring to the word kronos as a "false time spirit" then I would suggest that you examine yourself, as you seem to spend a lot of time and energy in rejecting the truth as it is written.

Each time Christianity is under attack, all of the followers become some kind of martyrs, copying/referring to what the new or the old testament says. Well, bad for them, 'cause only if they could see the truth between the lines of those 2 books then they would understand that they are nothing but fools, slaves and pawns to a war not claimed by some (referring to the original source) Jewish b****ds, wanting to take revenge of the world of being slaves for a long time... so they cooked this fake story o a Messiah (which by the way they still expect him) to conquer the conquerer an drive the masses to insanity after a few years... just read the evolution or better the devolution of Christians through time and you would understand the lies that the world had been fed 2000~ years now. Lies trying to prove that Jesus existed, died and saved the world... such a stupid story, not even a 3year old child would have believed it or came up with it to fool us, it would impress us with something more imaginative and believable!!!
So good like to your imaginative savior, and hope that when you see him, it won't be too late to open your eyes to the truth!!! 'Cause now you walk with the eyes blind folded to destruction of the planet just because you thing you are superior to everything!!! Flash news you are nothing but liars!!!

Agreed, 100%. It's like "God loves you", but only until you show the slightest skepticism/resistance, and then He goes werewolf on your ass.
