Really you probably have something that you want to do but you are repressing it because you don't think that it is possible.

it's not really an uplifting state to be in, everything seems to lack purpose, but maybe you could try to help people when you get the chance.

I don't mean in that intruding way, as to "save" everyone, but if someone ask a question you can answer or you can give advice to, go for it.
I mean here on GLP or any other forum for that matter.
People tend to think you are strange if you do it on the street hehe.

This life is what you make it, really, if you feel it has lost purpose it's your chance to find a new meaning in it, just sitting around waiting for "the next life" is not that fun either.

Beer and pain killers seem to help sometimes, or i just take sleeping pills and sleep the day away and lucid dream, its about the only thing that seems enjoyable anymore until i wake up in sleep paralysis where i feel like im being sucked into a black hole...

Give it time and soon enough you will come to acknowledge the 'purpose' or 'meaning' behind your feeling this way. I see it in a positive light despite it being uncomfortable to be surrounded by constant reminders of conditions that do not resonate with you.

That's contingent on what you've been doing over those 10 years. You can create mental impediments to your progress, or barriers. You said above you were relying on alcohol and meds to help get you by at times? That is actually hampering you. Those depressants might make you feel better in the short-term or more 'numb' to these unpleasant feelings, but they do not allow you to continue to raise your consciousness. Many of the thoughts in your original post are reflection of people who have gone through an 'awakening' process however it sounds like you've hit a road block and have not taken the next step. I would recommend you try and distance yourself from honoring these negative emotions in your life and see where that takes you. Also distance yourself from activities that lower your awareness. That includes drowning out your pain and numbing your consciousness. If you are on any psychotropic meds and feel you can do without them, important to ween off them with the help of a doctor or psychiatrist because that can really screw you over badly if you stop taking them 'cold turkey'.

Not sure how old you are but it is entirely normal.

From birth we are programmed to be nothing more than a rabid consumers.

Once you get tired of being a consumer, consuming anything from money spent on entertainment, beer, bling, new clothes, even just going out and having fun is still being a consumer, fun costs money.

Welcome to your age and reality of becoming non-materialistic! Yes everything now seems boring even people that are stuck in materialism still seem agonizing to be around and tolerate.

This is the time of your life that you need to look inward and find and pursue anything you still have heart for. Recreate yourself. Gather other non-materialistic people around you.

Maybe begin yoga meditation for 30 minutes each morning.
Sit in the park for no apparent reason.
Learn to enjoy doing absolutely nothing.

It's O.K bro, I totally know where you are coming from. Have felt like this too for about 8-10 years but it got a whole heap worse for many of us back in Feb-March (something changed bigtime then) I am fortunate enough to have 2 friends that I would not call awake but they dont take life too seriously.

They are not your usual TV and Facebook addicts like most, they just like having fun and are a real tonic to be around. It's important not to spend too much time alone as things will only worsen, try and find some REAL humans to have some good times with at least twice a week.

This stage that many of us are going through will pass I promise, before we were awoken we we just as entertained by silly things and trinkets to a certain extent and now that has gone. We now see them for what they are.

From here we will enter the next stage soon where we will see our path very clearly, believe me when I say this is all for a reason. It's kind of like a transition stage which is what all things go through when they switch from one thing to another. If anything, be proud you have made it this far, 98% of the world have yet to do that so give yourself a pat on the back my friend :-)

Around mid July things WILL become clearer.

Yes to be able to enjoy doing nothing without feeling guilty about wasting time (the way we're conditioned to feel) is a good thing indeed. You can rediscover yourself.

I just lost my one and only life long friend to cancer a month ago who was only 27 and now hes gone, never to return, never to share another moment with... He was like me, like a brother, we shared the same mindset and humor. its like part of me is gone, dead, in the next life while i have to stay here trapt in this body here and endure this shithole life lonely as fuck.

Just so you know, awakening is a slow.. glacially slow, process.

Takes a long time to reprogram a life of programming.

Personally, it was 8 1/2 years for me, from the point of dissassociation to the sudden rivatilizing.

My job sucks now, compared to then.
I have no girlfriend now, compared to being engaged then.

In all facets of my existence, where I am (in reality) now is a far cry worse from where I was back when all this started.

So I know it isn't simply because I found such and such. It isn't because now I have X and can be happy again.

It came out of the blue. Just one day the blahness was gone and I could finally breath and see clearly.

Just to give some perspective, from the opposite side of the coin..

My life is very shitty right now. Going through poverty, loss of job, trying to get state aid, losing almost everything as in house, cars, possessions, etc.

I still feel very much that I am "enjoying" life. Why?

I am experiencing love.

I have the love of my wife and my 5 daughters. I still love the feeling of always trying to improve my life and trying to provide for, and contribute to the life of those that I love, even when things are very much not "going my way".

It is pure joy to experience this love. I even love my pets. I have to pugs. They bring me much happiness. Watching my little girls grow up, brings me pure happiness.

Boredom is in the eye of the beholder. Seek earthly things and you will become bored. Seek love, and you will always have fulfillment.

I'm in that place right now and not seeing any signs of change.
