Here we go: China eyeing Afghanistan
China announced today that the Shanghai Cooperation Group military alliance (SCO) has "a bigger role" to play in Afghanistan.

Think about this: most of history's major empires have occupied Afghanistan at some point. Alexander the Great, Ghengis Khan, the Mugals, the British Empire, the Soviet Union, and currently NATO.

China feels its alliance's turn is coming up next.

BEIJING — China, Russia and four Central Asian countries have vowed to play a bigger role in Afghanistan, Chinese President Hu Jintao said in comments published Wednesday, as NATO forces prepare to pull out.

He said the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) -- a group intended as a counterweight to US influence in Central Asia and dominated by China and Russia -- had also decided to strengthen Afghanistan's role in the organisation.

The SCO -- which groups China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan -- was formed in 2001 with the view of counterbalancing US and NATO influence in the region.

India, Pakistan, Iran and Mongolia are observers.

Further to the initial post:

1. NATO pulls out of Afghanistan next year

2. Russia and China are bolstering their forces in Eurasia

3. The Caspian Basin is the world's oil and gas grand prize.

This announcement by China, in tandem with the SCO alliance, rings alarm bells to me.

I'll bet the Chinese could wipe out Afghanistan in about two months.

Realistically the USA could cream Afghanistan in two weeks but there would be a shitload of collateral damage.

Fuck it, lets just Nuke'em.

We already did. Or at least plenty of bunker busters.

Remember those little caves that people could live in up in the Afghanistan mountains, that they lived in probably ever since the climate dried out there?

Well we decided that since we could not control them, we would blow them up.

They are no more. What used to be habitable, is now uninhabitable.

Now that the US has spent all of OUR money, they can bring in the commies/third worlders, who will mine all the minerals with coolie labor while some oligarch/group(s) over here are a partner.

Or, something fucked up like that.

It's about the coming war in those regions. SCO wants a foodhold in that area. Nothing better then a sandbox full whit military toys. Those village people are in for a wild ride.

I hope China puts troops there. to counter weight the West. atleast for a bit.

The $1trillion jackpot: U.S. discovers vast natural deposits of gold, iron, copper and lithium in Afghanistan
[link to www.dailymail.co.uk]

American geologists have discovered a hidden treasure trove of minerals in Afghanistan that could transform the fortunes of the war-scarred country.

The untapped deposits - including huge veins of gold, iron, copper, cobalt and key industrial metals like lithium - have been valued at more than £820billion.

US experts believe the find could turn Afghanistan from a bedraggled nation torn apart by generations of conflict into one of the most important mining centres in the world.

You probably dont know this but the Chinese have occupied Afghanistan before. 8th Century Tang Dynasty. Imperial Chinese forces crossed the Himalayas, fought all the way to modern day Krygystan to the Talas River. Along the way, they established a military garrison at what is now known as KABUL.

Exactly, it is not a secret. The mountains of Afghanistan is full of lithium as in Batteries and pharmaceuticals for psychiatric patients.

China is threatening, poking their noses into the US's spoils in Afghanistan, as a bargaining chip over the Iran/Syria issue. We will see who backs down first and who gets the newly found deposits of vast mineral riches including gold, copper, iron as well as lithium.

Those lands have been having blood drenched in the sands for ever. There has to be some(thing mystical. Minerals and resources yes, but remember the first thing Hitler did when he came into power? He took the holy lance that supposedly stabbed Jesus with from the museam . Every group who has had their hands on this lance has ruled with power. We had our hands on it after ww2 but we have lost it. (Stolen)We went to find it again for ten years. Now if China goes and finds it. We all are going to be going along for a crazy ride.

Russia does not want to touch Afghanistan with a barge pole. It's all about the geopolitics of control of the Stans and the Eurasian land mass, which is the main step to world control.
