I did, not for an hour though.

I wish I could remember. The docs put me in a drug-induced coma(8 days, so I'm told).........I only remember after I awoke.

But, it was kinda freaky having all these people visiting me. Staff at the hospital.

Kept asking me if I knew how lucky I was. In short, NO I didn't. To me it was just a blink of an eye...to everyone else it was 8 days.........not that is another thread for lost time LOL

Re: Has Anybody Here Died For Over An Hour, and came back, What was it like?
My old man was in a diabetic coma once.

For four days.

I got to come home on emergency Leave.

The Doctors said they had never seen or even heard of someone with blood sugar even close to his level, and survived.

He told me he had to view his whole life.

That everything replayed in front of him, and he had to judge himself, without deception, and be honest about how he had lived his Life.

He said he believed he came back to Life because he had something else to do.

And when his Mom died, wonderful Lady, Lived through the dustbowl as a Farmer's daughter, and just an amazing history...

When she died, there is a story in the family, that one of my cousins awoke and saw her spirit standing there. In a garden, and Grandma supposedly said "Do not be afraid. Everything is okay. I am in a beautiful place now".

And I have never told anyone about either of these stories, aside from on here, and amongst the family members.

Peace.
David.

When I came back, I felt like death warmed over.

The good thing is, I realized that my stance as an atheist had been validated. No pearly gates, no Beelzebub rubbing his hands in glee...

Re: Has Anybody Here Died For Over An Hour, and came back, What was it like?
I did but not for an hour. I was ten years old. I was in a carriage with two white horses. someone was riding the carraige I couldn't see him, only heard him ordering the horses to go faster. i saw myself sitting beside him and the two white horses running very very fast thorugh a tunnel. the light in the tunnel - a white light - was extremely bright. nothing else was there except the light. when the carriage passed the tunnel it came to an open space. the carriage moved forward thorugh this space. I heard someone calling my name I turned my head and looked. the voice was calling me to come back, I did not want to, but when I turned my head and looked everything vanished: the carriage the horses the vast space and the light. next i heard my aunt crying and saying something about me being dead.. then life came back to me like when you fill an empty glass with water....
to tell you the truth I keep yearning for that experience... it was very peacful..

Re: Has Anybody Here Died For Over An Hour, and came back, What was it like?
I have not experienced that personally. I do know of two people that say that they have. One is a child and the other a drug addict; so take it as you will. The child suffered a blunt force trauma and stopped breathing. After recovery, she told of a "lady" that took her by the hand and told her to go back home to Mommy and Daddy. She was also told to go back to her nannie. She will not leave you. The being then told her that she would see her again. The addict overdosed and was meant by a longed bearded, long robed man. She was told to "not come back until you are right!" I find it interesting that both were similiar in that they were met by some kind of being. The child is now healthy and thriving. The addict has achieved full recovery and does not ever want to experience that again.

Peaceful.

The light is intense but, it doesn't hurt the "eyes".

You don't want to comeback here. But, they give you a good kick to send you back down until your mission is over and complete.

>>>>a coma is a different thing that beind dead for an amount of time<<<

This is true, but I did die several times I'm told.

I came down with some sort of flu.....@ 11:30a.m. I went to a local clinic (felt awful).....I was unconscious in a local hospital by 1:00p.m...........My lungs had "complete white-out" by 8:00 p.m. that evening. I coded several times. They at that point decided to drug induce a coma and used some sort of shunt either through my carotid/jugular (completely bypassing my lungs) with high pressure oxygen. My sats were down to the low 40's. Unheard of I'm told. They also kept me in some sort of ice bed.....they told my parents the didn't want even my eye lids to move......it was vital that just my most basic life support systems being used.

They told my family to make funeral arraingments and get anyone in while they could, to see me.

They kept me like that for 8 days I guess. All I know is when I awoke.....my arms (to my elbows) and my legs(past my knees) were completely black.

On discharge my diagnosis read "complete bi-lateral repsiratory failure".

Not only did I live.........but much to the astonishment at every medical professional at this small hospital.......(they had tried to life flight me to Yale, but they said they couldn't do anything) I awoke with no brain damage from the lack of oxygen.

I had to submit blood cultures for several weeks after to the CDC and signed a consent for the pulmonist to write some sort of paper on my treatment. They never came up with a reason.........

I wish I could remember something......I just know that somewhere inside, my spirit wasn't ready to go.

Geez, I don't know what to say?

Yes, I came back. Cause there is a purpose for me and each and everyone of us down here.

Sure, Velvet.

I am not sure if this is the right thread for it, but here's a quick rundown.

This was.. the third time I had ever smoked MJ, I believe.

And my friends decided that we would celebrate something that had happened, and we were all in high spirits.

We smoked using a waterfall.

And then, as we were downstairs, talking, My mind started to wander, and then I discovered something.

I went through a wave of vertigo.

I somehow awakened and was using my third eye, or some upper chakra, or something.

Let me tell you, there is a reality that exists. That we are barely aware of.

This world is but a shadow of what else is out there.

And That experience, that unity that I achieved with all of creation, was something that I will treasure forever.

I understand that there are many higher levels of awareness, and having seen one of them, I have to agree.

Peace and Love.
David.

And I sparked my religious exploration in earnest after that.

I understand that many can go to these places through mediation, although I have only been back there once, when I realized the Presence of a Mighty Loving Force Beaming Down on me, on all of Creation.

And that is something else that apparently we see once we enter the dimension of meaning.

This is something I would have a hard time understanding if I had not been to that astounding, meaningful place.

Peace.
David.

PS. Yes, I believe there is a reason that American Indians use Drugs in Religious Ceremonies.

Oh, our perceptions are changed when we lift the veil.

Things we see am important now are laughable.

Our community with each other becomes so much more important.

Everyone is a possible person for me to Love in that state.

And I have carried that over to my life now. I try to Love all.

Because some of these people light up in return, and it feels so great.

Peace.

i don't think anyone who was dead for an hour and somehow revived would have the mental capacity to use a computer. except in those extremely rare cases of people trapped under the ice.
