4) Carry a diving snorkel so you can lay under ground/soil/sand or underwater un-noticed...perfect for sleeping when there arent many hiding spots around or just plain old escape and evasion

A boat is the best. Zombies can't swim. You can just catch your food everyday, too.

Boring depends on how many boats are out there.

The problem is that it lloks like the're going to be the fast-movers, and will retain a level of intelligence as well. harder to fool.

I works with real combatants in real world recon scenarios, ninjas used to do it with their katana sheaths or bamboo, navy seals do it.... why wouldnt it fool zombies if done properly..obviously its a last resort thing..but at least youll have a last resort if for no other reason

Carpet for armor. It's tough to bite through, and doesn't weigh all that much.

Could use shark armor, for that matter. It's essentially chain mail.

Rather than a spear, I'd go with a katana or something similar. You'd have to practice a lot to develop the muscles and stamina you'd need, but even if you just take off their arms and legs, they're not moving far.

Nope I think thats a terrible Idea, heres why

1) Holds too much heat

2) There are much better materials out there that have superior strength to weight ratio's

3) There are much better materials that have a superior thickness to weight ratio

4)It holds water(blood) like a sponge and gets heavier.

5) You would have a pain in you back trying to scrub the blood out of it so you dont run around smelling, smearing and spreading zombie blood everywhere like a reverse walking pap smear test.

5) If your gonna wear something that heavy it might as well be something thats water proof.

6) if your not prepared for the zombie apocolypse with something better than carpet for protection you deserve to be eaten.

I'd like to see evidence of someone biting through an actual leather jacket sleeve, and I dont mean some super cheapo or butter lambskin jack ...I mean a reeeaall leather coat sleeve, the kind bikers wear and such.

7) These real life zombies can use knives as weapons...carpet sont help much in that department either...you just end up looking like an idiot wearing carpet getting stabbed

zombies would last 6 days then they would rot even quickly or they would despose because the human body needs energy and water to work , now zombies have not any brain left , only the will to eat brain ... i say i will stay in my house and then with a shotgun i will go out to see if anything is left

That's fine for the upper body, and if you get matching leather pants, that'll do well for the lower body, and good leather gloves will work for the hands. This still leaves the head and neck exposed.

Yea for the head i was thinking a few things..

1) gas mask + skateboard helmet

2) army helmet + paintball mask

3) motocross helmet /motorcycle helmet..although that could get hot and heavy

4) welders helmet / riot helmet

5) if you can get your hands on kevlar material, then fashion a kevalar hood / bacalava with goggles

6) chainmail shark divers head piece + goggles

7) uspside down thick plastic fishbowl??? lol

8) go to a museum and steal a medevil knight head armor...

This isn't a goddamned war. Supplies are limited, and thusly, one would have to learn to live WITH zombies. Deep, pitted traps, high walls and barricades. Sure, katanas are sweet as fuck against ONE zombie. But if you're looking for water with little to no body fat, do you think you're gonna swing it out against five or ten? Come on Peter Pan. Survive this shit! Reestablish the hunter/gatherer mentality with an aluminum armored plated four cylinder car. Megaphones running out of the roof. The best weapon is one you don't have to fire. Traps and barricades are going to keep you alive. Rainwater harvesting is a must. As are protein yielding plants. Do you know where that crow has been? I don't, and I'm sure as fuck not eating it. Get lots of rope and incendiaries. A good knife/ machete is kind of necessary for almost anything, so don't forget something that's going to sharpen that blade. Nails and hammers. You can rip off wood or metal anywhere, but nails? Gold, son. Last but not least, super glue for stitching wounds, and antibiotic cream. Now go out there and carve your name in the stone!!

I'm disapointed with the lack of response on this one,... c'mon GLP last chance before I give up on this thread, I figured this would be the place to be to start a thread like this with everyones out of the box mind and everything...

*Border control/perimeter security: Windows and doors are the key to any zombie attack. If your escape window is too high you risk injury in escaping; if it's the lower area then you risk it not being secure enough.
*Medicine: Herbs, pharmaceutical, etc., whatever you use, stock up and check expiration dates.
*Water: Not just for drinking. When you need to wash out a wound, would you trust water with a few zombie-sewer workers swimming around? Season 2 Walking Dead, perfect example.
*Automotive: Good set of snow-chains for the tires; run-flats of course. I'd say triple or quadruple your quantity of automotive supplies, basic stuff anyway. Transmission oil, windshield wiper fluid, fuel-injector cleaner. Little things like this catch up on people. 2 years down the road, if you're still alive, you'll be thankful if you're stuck with a clunker.
*Always leave a bullet for you. Do you want to become a zombie? When you're about to be Zombie-chow, blow your brains.

Some good ideas in here. Gas mask is a no go; if you've ever worn one, they're hard as hell to breathe in, and should only be used when absolutely necessary.

The best idea in my opinion is going to be the shark diver's chain mail with goggles. It's about as light-weight as you're going to get without too much heat retention in the summer; in winter, you'll need a ski mask on top of it. Metal gets cold. But it certainly sounds like a win for bite-proof.
