North Carolina, New Shithloe of the US

Howdy to fellow North Carolinians. =)

I moved here in 2000 (moved in with sister to make a new start as I left an abusive ex).

I have lived in many states here in the US, and in also 2 other countries. North Carolina is beautiful ... in regards to nature.

But overall, the people leave something to be desired. Yes, there are many exceptions ... but they are around 2% of the NC population.

I live in the Foothills, in one of the small counties in the state. This whole region of the state harbors some of the most ignorant, arrogant, laziest group of people I have ever seen in all the places I have lived.

My husband is born and raised here and he is still amazed at how stupid people are here.

But NC is no different than any other state in the US. The politics are crap (overall only meant to benefit the rich and powerful), a vast amount of the population is selfish and closed-minded, and the environment is being ruined by greed and cluelessness (is that a word?). Nearly every state has these traits. Hence why our country is rapidly progressing backwards.

*grins* We should have a NC GLP day ... meet somewhere (cookout anyone?) and oh .. I don't know ... get on our soapboxes and rant to those who understand why we are ranting?

of farmland need to rejuvenate itself so it
can continue to produce crops for next year.
the subsidy is to keep the farmers from
going bankrupt on the year their land

would continue to plant crops until the land
was of no agricultural value.

if it wasn't for this, you would not be eating

Get away from the 'diverse' cities into the burbs and it's a beautiful state.

I have lived in SC all my life. Went to a good school, a good college, and found a good place to settle down.

I have several family members in NC, and they are all either hippies, outdoorsmen, or have llamas. So I'm not sure how all of NC gets shithole status. Maybe it's something not living up to your expectations, but both states have a lot of good qualities as well. Just depends on where you are and who you associate with I suppose.

Shit, you rednecks got to keep your assholes, don't need any more of them here in California. My family left North Carolina 150 years ago for California, and the place currently has a wonderfully low percentage of North Carolina assholes. As you seem to be familiar with lubricants, why don't you go use it yourself?
