Ok in a couple of months Assad will be dead and gone and then there will be another country in the middle east that has to establish a new type of government.
The people in most of the middle east aren't ready for a democracy because they don't see the advantages and frankly I don't see any other type of government succeeding.
The next decades will be marked by civil wars and the falling apart of countries, if we even get to see a couple of more decades....

And if Russia is forced to occupy Syria, Israel is not that far away and would make a GREAT warm water naval base for Russia.
