Time Traveler Teaches You How to Learn a Foreign Language
Do you want to learn a foreign language as quickly as possible?

Here is how.

1. Never learn just one word. Always learn that word in the shortest sentence possible.

2. Work with a native speaker or repeat what you hear on the Internet from a native speaker while acting out the verb phrase or holding the object of the noun phrase you are learning. For example, "I have a pen. I am writing with this pen." Actually write with it while saying it.

3. Learn these short sentences as a part of a theme. Going to a restaurant. Going to the hospital. Etc.

4. You'll want to master the pronouns with the verbs "be", "do", "have" and "want" in that order first. Then move on to greetings. Then to the simplest question sentences. In that order. All pronouns for each verb are learned in the same order. I, you, we, they, he, she, it. Don't change the order. Your memory will work more efficiently.

5. Have sets of index cards or an index list of short sentences, the phonetic pronunciation, and the alphabet or syllabary of the language you are learning.

6. Memorize the parts of the human body from top down. For example, "My head.", "My eyes.", "My ears." etc.

7. Then memorize verbs from top down. For example, "I think.", "I see.", "I hear./I listen."

8. When you stop having fun learning the language that day, stop and do something else for awhile until you want to go back to studying it.

9. Always review about 10 short sentences you studied your previous session before studying new sentences.

10. To order different languages, imagine you are in different rooms of a house with different colored wallpaper. French could be Blue, German black, Russian Red, Japanese White, etc...

Here is a good example of appropriate language material. YouTube or Pod-Casts are even better.

Always have fun and don't fear. We're going to get through all these immediate changes alive. My fellow Americans, if there was one foreign language I would recommend you use this method to study -- it would be Russian. There is a message in this for you.

The movements really work.(writing gesture with a pen for ex)
If I forget a word I make a gesture and then it comes back in my memory.
I actually would like to learn Russian, so this could be a nice step.

I can't write Kanji either, but I can read several thousand. I practice reading manga. I started to study Japanese in 2001.

Writing Russian should come later. Learn to speak short and simple phrases first with the correct pronunciation.

I keep forgetting that some people are already using some of these learning techniques. It does really work. You can see your partner's eyes and face as the phrases come easily back to the surface once they pretend to write with a pen. It is really amazing. Reviewing your previous session is really important. One guy had this simple timing program called "Super Learning" "Super Memo". We'll all use that technique in the near future. People will have multiple areas of expertise. Even medicine can be studied this way.

The example that comes up from the link shows that 'he has' and 'she has' is the same but they are not.

nyevo and nyeyo and they are spelled in Cyrillic very differently.

Yes. I'm doing it to remain safe. But I am assured the protection of those men in black suits and have been given permission to have a few messages pinned on GLP.

This foreign language guide has been approved. I have been typing during these hours long tremors in Tokyo right now.

That would be a mistake. The site isn't perfect. I just want to give an example of material that has Cyrillic, a phonetic guide and the English translation.

I looked at the rest of the site. It is very good. That example on "to have" was a simple mistake that really isn't important. Lots of good vocabulary words though.

Since you brought up Russian in the first place, let me recommend this site: [link to learnrussian.rt.com]

It is from 'Russia Today' and appears to be much more complete with a lot of audio to help pronunciation and exercises to prove you leaned the material ... and it is free.

If you already know some Russian fundamentals and you don't want to take college classes or spend a lot of money this is good one to take a look at.
