Gearing Up for Nazi Rally-Toledo, Ohio-Saturday
Gearing Up for Nazi RallyDecember 8, 2005 -

Law enforcement and Toledo leaders are gearing up for Saturday's Neo Nazi rally at one government center.
Mayor Jack Ford said today the city has filed a lawsuit to keep the Neo Nazis and counter-protestors from assembling anywhere but outside of the city building. Law enforcement says its goal is to contain the area. But if things get out of control, police say several hundred officers from dozens of law enforcement agencies will be ready.

Police will be blocking off parts of downtown on Saturday because of the rally and prevent anyone from walking or driving through the area you see highlighted.

City leaders and police are asking residents to stay home and avoid the area where the rally will be held and they've turned to a special group to help get out their message.

Police have enlisted the help of local clergy. Pastors have been working in the community since October to make sure there isn't a repeat of the violence that followed the Nazi's last visit to Toledo.

Local ministers will be armed with a message of peace and equality this Saturday when Nazis rally in downtown Toledo.

A group of local pastors will be on-call ready to help keep the peace if necessary.

Dr. Marjorie Holt from the Bethesda Christian Ctr. said, "The religious community here is unified when it comes to tragedies and chaos, the community will suffer if we don't come together."

All of the ministers and city leaders we talked to believe that most people will stay away from the rally.

There will be a number of alternative activities this Saturday.

I predict a riot too - and maybe a whole lot worse this time.

This is another event in the manipulated escalation of racism in the USA.
