As the OP originally mentioned, she wants to study and eventually work in Biotech. This means she'll most likely end up in San Diego, the Bay Area (SF, San Jose CA), Portland OR, or Seattle, which are the biotech hubs. I suggest only looking at those areas for college, since you'll have great internship opportunities, and the internships usually lead to jobs after graduation.

If the ethnic %'s there aren't up to your specifications (maybe only Portland will cut it) then reconsider a career in the sciences. You won't find any jobs in that living in a backwater rural area. I'll also mention this is an industry with a lot of Asians and Indians working in it. Basically anything in science, computers or engineering is going to have some minorities from other countries, with full ethnic quirks and accents. It sounds like you aren't jazzed about dealing with such things.

Pick a career that can be performed anywhere in the country so you have the option of moving to a white area (probably rural). Healthcare, education, and service industry jobs come to mind.

You have a fairly wide selection of places that actually do not offer much in the way of high-quality education. West Virginia, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, and I believe Wyoming are all White havens to a greater or lesser degree with North Dakota and West Virginia being the two I would single out as having the greatest majority of Whites in the population.

Hence why there's less black people, A LOT less. If you're pretty close to Ohio border, there's next to no black people, there all way north in Ohio. It was uncommon to see a black person even in a walmart. Pure whites.

I moved to a small semi rural town in Ohio that's 99% white and amish. Very low crime here as far as I can tell. You've got the right idea, OP.....
