[ link to i319.photobucket.com] It's the Milky Way, yes, the Milky Way galaxy. Yes, OUR galaxy. He exported a very widefield picture from an all-sky survey using Skyview Virtual Observatory in orthographic projection which shows the band of the milky way and called it Nibiru. Here's my version, just taking wild guesses as to the field of view, coordinates, and sky survey (I used IRAS for mine). [ link to i319.photobucket.com] Yes folks, the Milky Way is now "Nibiru." Wow.. those pictures, taken that way, really do make it look like we are looking at a planet, when in fact it is the edge of the viewing circumference we are seeing! Now this makes sense to me!! It explains how pictures are created to make it “appear” as though you are seeing a planet… Too neat! Thanks for sharing Astromut Great thread TBar!
