Amazing art: These are not photographs, but paintings!

Now that's what I call Art. Not some Picasso crap that looks like a 5 year old painted it.

Reminds me of the concrete artist who draws 3D stuff in chalk. That's ALSO awesome

I went to art school once - but this makes me speechless...

What's the point in doing this? This is just plain mental masturbation: the dude prolly gets Off by looking at his own paintings thinking "oh look what I can do, I can paint stuff so well peOple actually think it's a photograph...oh wait I'm cumming...." where the paintings themselves don't transport any message that could not be transported by a simple photograph.

There are many points to doing it. artist paint because they get enjoyment out of painting,and because they have a passion for what they do. Also, As he said himself, he enjoys the challenge. Artists paint because it makes them feel proud of hemselves, not because they want to show off and make others jealous of them, as you seem to think. And, perhaps a photograph could transmit the same message, but the point of art isn't to convey a message. The point of art is to create because you love to create, and for other to admire because, even though you may not, many people simply hold an admiration for artistic talent.

If those are really paintings, then he's greater than Leonardo and Michaelangelo! IMO.

Pointless, worthless, anyone can learn to do this-

You can learn to be a painter
You can't learn to be an artist
Picasso was a genius

the content of the paintings is stupid. the technical skill is amazing...

This isn't really art. The painter is nothing more, than a copy-machine. Art has to be 'new'. Picasso could also paint ultra-realistic, but he tried something 'new' for his time and something others won't do. Hence his abstract paintings.

Technical skill is very high, but he couldn't paint such things without a photograph to copy from. Still has the wow factor though.

He can come over to my house and do some painting.I allready have the roller,brushes,tarp,ladder,and Sherwin Williams all ready to go!

Well, I like to be able to recognize whatever the heck I'm looking at! I don't understand this modern stuff which is just a blank canvas or a square block of concrete which stupid cities spend perfectly good taxpayer money on instead of art which EVERYONE can recognize and appreciate. Did you really LOOK at the paintings? Check out the "apple Blossom" one - you can even see the slight crinkles in the petals of the flowers. Even if these were photos they would be remarkable; the fact that they were painted just makes them more so.

The artistry is in the image this image he chooses to paint and these pieces of art are beautiful to me.

And btw, photography is an art as well . . .
