How do they rescue 21 people from the water, find no trace of wreckage, and then say it was all a hoax....and one source said the 'Blind Date' may not even exist. Holy cow.

From the NY Times article:

Another Blind Date was an even larger yacht, a 161-foot craft built in 2009 for the same owner, Peter A. Hochfelder, the founder and principal of a private investment firm in Manhattan. His young daughter, answering the phone at home, said she knew nothing about a yacht explosion.

They haven't rescued anyone; they were simply responding to a distress call that reported 21 people in the water. What I can't figure out is WHY anyone would pull such a hoax, if it is one. Maybe to distract the Coast Guard for awhile, or see how easy it would be to do so???

Not according to this. Another boat reportedly assisted.

Here's a bit from the article;

A "good Samaritan" vessel, the Erica, was in the vicinity when the explosion occurred and assisted in the rescue until emergency apparatus, including two Coast Guard helicopters, three 47-foot motor lifeboats, two New York City Police Department helicopters, and a helicopter from Nassau County Police, could respond, the Coast Guard said.

A fleet of ambulances and dozens of emergency personnel awaited the arrival of the victims via Coast Guard choppers at two medevac landing zones set up in Sandy Hook and Atlantic Highlands, both in Monmouth County.

No one else finds this extremely odd? Another boat taking part in the rescue, but not one more word heard about it. Something so strange going on with this. BTW, I heard the so-called "distress" call on the radio today. It was bizarre to say the least. The caller kept referring to the people on board as "souls".

Gone are the days when a speculator could systematically put yachts up on the market and count on a quick sale.

Mr. Hochfelder, who declined to be interviewed, has put both on the market, in the hope that he can sell at least one. He has been asking $9.5 million for the older yacht (Blind Date) and $33 million for the new one(Blind Date).

Very strange, reminded me of that movie with Patrick Swayze, where these messages came in from some other timeline. This feels like it was some other timeline bleeding through.

The guy had the wrong tone in his voice....considering the circumstances....including 3 alleged deaths.

If you are standing in 3 feet of water on the bridge....and talking from a solar phone....

pfffft.....stinks to high hell.

They will be waiting for the next fake call. I'm just glad no really emergency’s happened at the same time this fake call happened.

As a boater, this REALY pisses me off. Everyone who responded put themselves in harm’s way.

I hope they pick this guy up, I want to see him serve time...
