Question: Romney being Mormon
This might be a mute point.

I thought that storing food long term is considered illegal in most areas of US and Canada.

Most Mormons believe in storing 2 years of food. Would that put the Romneys in a sticky spot? I have not heard anyone else bring this up.

Yes its fundamental to the religion and is expected, so I guess there are exemptions.

We actually would like 7 years worth if possible.... :)

We do it so we can share with other people that don't have any or weren't prepared as we care for all of our brothers and sisters.

Re: Question: Romney being Mormon
I'm all for it as well.

When I first heard about food storage back in the early 90's, I heard that the government considers it hoarding and had outlawed it after the depression and WW2 in some parts of Canada and the US.

I looked it up on the net for 5-10 minutes prior to posting this the other day and did not find anything about it being illegal.

It wouldn't stop anyone wanting to do it anyway, I guess it is one of those old laws that are not enforced.
