Hi Market,

here I can compete with you:

Ring Nebula: [link to p-m-a.org]

Dumbbell Nebula: [link to p-m-a.org]

Same magnification - the Dumbbell is a monster.

Old Meade LX6 2120 (10") on a wedge.
Canon EOS 550D
Both photos: 10 x 10sec 1600ASA stacked

Heavy light poluted area (close to the city center of Hamburg - if you are lucky you can see mag 3 with the naked eye).
Thus longer exposure times are impossible.
Also nine times out of ten bad seeing.

I got a 10" Dobsonian. Very hard to capture something decent with this dob mount. I am also in a city with 1+ million people in it :/

we have the 8" dob from Orion and frequently gaze at both of these targets. Dobs might not be so great at photography, but that's a whole lotta mirror for not a lotta money

Hmmm....guess I'll have to process a few up....

I took a couple days R&R after this last run to the GLP OBS....Trin and Me worked hard this run...but we got a couple nice pics off the 20 despite weather and the full moon fighting us the whole way.
