Some folks do not recall ever even having one. They're left with no frame of reference or logical narrative to get there. With that said, all one would have to do is be open to the possibility of it happening and boom.

Why do people still insist their perspective is the only "right" perspective and everyone else is still in a 101 course? Instead of belittling someone's point of view, enhance it. Elaborate on your technique and maybe you'd help someone out. Unless, of course, you get your kicks from looking down on others as others have looked down on you.

If everything is made up of our perceptions, then how could we not be the center of the universe?

The nexus on the 17th may be useful. But I'm not exactly sure what its values are so I can't be sure.

One day we will realize there's no difference between mental and physical symbols.

But until then, you can experiment to see which one works best. A mental symbol is easily shared with others, though.

I'm fine with either. I'm working on my Genius model for this so wanted to clarify. I wonder why you picked a symbol that has some meaning in that first experiment? Why not just a rock w/o any meaning attached to it?

In that case, both "center" and "universe" would be irrelevant.

That's why it's more fun to name things and create conflict. hehe

It could have been a rock. But I suppose it was a personal preference.

The form itself is a nexus, which makes it easier :)

Lots of potential energy is attracted to it, you could say. In other terms, its form is geometrically quite an "efficient" design.

You can use any form you'd like, or even do a variation of Sekhmet with your own embellishments.

Okay, so we are still going with Sekhmet. I have a Genius model. Shall I post it? Or is the model provided somewhere in this thread....I haven't read the whole thread yet and since this is a group type project, it might differ from what I am learning to build.

(I tried to be linear about studying the material, but alas, I find I am reading threads in all different ways, in the middle, at the end and at the start! Iow, I jumped in with both feet! )

This is the direction in which my inquiries are taking me. I am a little bit disgusted by much of what I find written about the gods, although I have run into one or two remarkable writers who seem to get it. I'll post some of that stuff later. Probably while you are absent and the thread will need some bumps.


I figured this out quite awhile ago. I am walking around in my brain.

It is my conjecture that the Egyptian Book of the Dead is a description of the parts and processes in the brain, and how they correspond to the "other" world, which, I am assuming, is the mind. The Duat, I think.


I do not know how to ask this succinctly, without posting reams of background research. So, please allow me to ask this in hopes that you can give me a hint or a full explanation (ha! I know better than that!). Who or what does Baal represent?

I was a little bit shook by your reference to Thoth as also being known as Yahweh. I know that these myths and figures are representative of other things -- of other forces -- and my head is on fire trying to reconcile some of these forces. Can you help, please?

Sorry to get so far off the subject matter of this thread, but I think that it is relative in a different way.

This is my understanding so far:

Baal is representative of separation; of power over; of dominion over.

Yahweh is representative of restrictive rules; of control.

And yet, Thought/Thoth/Yahweh holds the ankh.

One last point. Yahweh declares itself as being a jealous god.

I'm here to learn. So, thanks for sharing.

I don't really think it's far from the subject matter though. It looks to me you are reconciling myth with archetypes with symbols with how the mind functions? And could you define your understanding of the ankh? (I'm trying to catch up with several years of Chaol threads...so I appreciate this! )

But it is more than that. There are shapes involved. Relationships. The archetypes are alive.

And I do not know why the Egyptians, but I would love to know. I have searched and searched and can't really pin it down. However, I am good at reading between the lines and if you share your thesis, I might be able to glean something useful. I can tell you have studied this and would like to pick your brain, so to speak, heh!
