Just FYI for you Chaol, besides meditation, here are some of the things "we" do here to transcend ego:
Quoting: Unit3 Thanks, but it sounds a bit complicated.
A lines or two of Ec would suit me better, I suppose.
Then I guess you can say that's it's more about the result than the meditation itself. For me and for this, it is satisfied in the workings of neuronics.
Quoting: Chaol Thanks for checking it out. It is complicated and this is pretty easy compared to what some people practice. Most spend years at it.....and I mean daily, with every thought!
The results they report is that you are ONE with the Divine, once ego is transcended, and will experience bliss. You have spiritual experiences, talk to God and feel One with everything, have a lot of energy, see the world as illusion, don't need much sleep (if at all), visit places all over the universe, other dimensions, and libraries, remember past lives, remember before you came here, etc:.
But, for myself, my spiritual experiences all fit my beliefs at the time. If my beliefs changed, so did my understanding of the experience. So, that's when I began to question what's going on.
Anyway, my husband has been practicing this type thing for probably 20 years or more, and from what I can see, he needs more and more isolation from everything. He actually should live in a monastery. He is now highly sensitive to sights, sounds, colors, smells, food....everything.
I like neuronics because it feels happy, light and natural. And like you say, it's much easier. It isn't about restricting yourself to expand perspective, it's knowing HOW to expand it.
So yes, it's not about the meditation, it's about the results. I've also read there are 2 kinds of "awakening". (We call it awakening or transcending ego.) One is called angelic awakening and the other demonic awakening. The practice for the "angelic" takes years of training too.
