Cultural differences within a country

Specifically, outside of the United States, how do people differ from one region to another?

Is this question too deep? I would like to get a take on other countries. I would like to know if they feel contempt for each other for some silly reason.

Now, I'll be labeled a liberal or whatever. I hate politics. They waste our money and find any way they can to better themselves at our expense. No matter what side you happen to be on. So, that's not it. I just want to know because here in the US, people are completely different in the north and the south. I cannot speak for the west.
