Actually the new diesels eliminate most of the bad stuff, and virtually all of the particulates.

New exhaust systems, incorporating the use of DEF (Diesel exhaust fluid) the air in most big cities coming out of these systems is cleaner than the air taken in.

let me tell u man. There are technologies that could power your car non stop for damn centenary but we are not allowed to have these. Nothing will be done about this unless they decide to let it, their too damn greedy and they dont mind cancer because it kills a few of us and reduces the population cures that actually work already exist but they dont let us have them. If you want something my man u go about doing it yourself and expect huge opposition.

This is huge, but not as huge as the nuclear fallout that has been causing the uptick of cancers since the late 1940's due to nuclear testing by developed countries.. then Chernobyl and now Fukushima.

From any reading I’ve done, cancer was not prevalent previous to the nuclear testing in the 1940's. That is why the nuclear testing governments decided to blame cigarettes rather than admit to the consequences of what they had done.

Cancer really didn't exist before all of the manmade chemicals. That is why everyone should be living as organic as possible. But i thought that was already rudimentary common sense.

I actually live on top of two diesel engines. 16 cylinder 645 EMD's. Motors about as big as a small school bus. I suspect these cancer claims might be slightly true.

But i don't think diesel exhaust causes anywhere near the amount of cancer that modern beauty products cause. And for that matter a very long list of everyday chemicals from pork to anti-persperants, to vaccines, to processed foods and flouride in your toothpaste. All vetted in a court of law to be carcinogenic.

I work on a commercial ship. We breath diesel smoke like it's fresh air from the top of a crystal clear mountain. There's men out here who have been breathing this high sulfur to ic stuff for 30 years and they are just fine.

It's the diesel fuel that's poison, not the engines. Biodiesel and/or vegetable oil do not produce toxic emissions.

THIS IS NOT NEWS because they knew this back during the Carter administration yet wanted to make a big push to convert everything, especially fleet vehicles like school buses, to diesel. This is why they imposed a EPA ban on idling diesels for more than ten minutes, which of course is impossible in cold weather or you won't re-start when the fuel system gels up. I believe you will find it is the most mutangenic non-radioactive substance out there, and coincidentally look at child asthama and cancer tumour rate increases since 1980. The lead is out of the gasoline, filthy living conditions was the real cause of childhood lead poisoning. Of course what makes natural gas so "clean" is teh carcinogens are so much smaller they can pass through a much smaller filter undetected, which means it can also pass further into your lung tissue and into your bloodstream that much easier. My advice is GET A HORSE.

Don't forget the paper around the tobacco. Bleached paper releases lots of carcinogens when burned. It's the paper more than the tobacco that makes cigarettes stink to non-smokers.

Thomas Edison believed it was the paper that made cigarettes bad for the health.

Well the real reason probably is that they need to explain the sharply dropping numbers of smokers and the still rising instances of lung cancer.

Imagine the sheep find out that tobacco does not cause lung cancer after all but it was nuclear test radiation after all.

Carbon credits. They are pushing this for years. People are just stupid and ignorant.

And another thing.

Smokers have a layer of mucus in their lungs - believe it or not it is like a protective coating. Maybe the stuff that is being sprayed in the air cannot enter your system when you have this protective layer? It is already shown that inhaled radioactive particles embed themselves into the walls of the lungs of non-smokers whereas they get encapsulated with mucus and eventually expelled from lungs of smokers.
