I love that book, im a psych nerd, and the 4% stat is translated better to people if you say it like this 1 in 25 people you meet are sociopaths, everytime you got to the store you make eye contact with someone lacking a conscience, or the inablility to feel remorse for wrongful action.

I don't think they are Drawn to theocratic beliefs, I think they enter churches, and theocracies to manipulate congregations, manipulate the "belief systems", manipulate interpretations of text, etc...

According to Martha Stout's book, it is very difficult to tell a sociopath apart, but the two best indicators are:

1) They lie a lot
2) They try to make you feel sorry for them, tell you a lot of pity and sob stories how they were wronged, pretend like they are sick and need help, on and on.

3) Lack of empathy goes without saying. Watch out for people who like to kill animals, ect. If they can kill other living sentient beings without any remorse or thought about it, there's a good chance they would feel the same way about humans.

There is no known treatment or cure for this disorder.

THIS, If you are born with one arm, what is the treatment to normalize that condition? If you are born without conscience there is not transplant operation, or therapy to induce its emergence. Sociopaths are evolutionarily INTENDED, a small percentage in a population is survivavble and advantageous. No its not a lovely idea that evolution favors them to a degree but its reality, and its why they pop up. What if all of our society was forced into cannibalism to survive???? What members of the population would remain SANE enough from such an experience to continue on and be successful??? Not those of us with a conscience i promise.

TO MAKE A SOCIOPATH WORK IN SOCIETY: RULES and known Punishments for certain negative behaviors (murder, theft, etc.) so that there is a LOGICAL CHECK SYSTEM. Sociopaths are made with lack of Parental love. Few kisses, hugs encouragement and touch.

Well I carried the responsibility and the blame for many years because I had no idea such a devil existed.Once I was made aware of how the chicken shits operate I have moved on in life and can actually enjoy it a bit for the first time ever.Never again will I tolerate a devil such as that and be belitted and made guilty so they can swoon over them self.
