Meanwhile, the search for the allegedly offended Guardsman, who could either confirm or clarify the incident, has begun.

“We have no idea who it might be,” said Louisiana National Guard Public Affairs Officer Lt. Col. Michael Cazmierzak. “To my knowledge, it was not a Louisiana National Guardsman or even a National Guardsman… if it even occurred.

“I have no idea of the National Guardsman in question. It was certainly none of my folks at the Bogalusa Armory, to my knowledge, not any of our full-timers and I suspect none of our part-timers.”

Cazmierzak said he used to be a National Guard commander in Bogalusa, and that as far as he knows the Guard “never had any problems with a Bogalusa business at all.”

He expressed mixed feelings about the protest and its potential impact on the business.

“It’s great that there’s patriotic support of the military out there,” Cazmierzak said. “It would be terrible if (the refusal of service) did happen. But it would be even worse if it didn’t.”

The National Guard center in Poplarville, Miss. was reportedly unaware of the alleged incident, and has only three Guardsmen from Bogalusa. But the contact said he would ask those men if they had any such experience at the store and would report back if any answered in the affirmative.

The consensus is that anyone who would have received such treatment would have mentioned it to others, especially those who might also be affected.

People are getting confused. We are not talking about what the law says. The owner did what he wanted. Fine.

Now, instead of going to court for refusing service, he has to deal with peer pressure (from the community) backlash.

A business owner can do what he wants, but most don't do it whenever they feel like it because of this very reason.

Could there be more to the story? Sure. If the soldier is well known and trusted most of the locals will believe him, though.

Another thing, if this was a Muslim who was refused service and he told people, there are people that would be protesting against that station, too. Some will, some won't. Don't believe it? They did a test on one of the tv shows. There's enough people that generally speak up for what is right.

To those across the ocean, our laws about this sort of thing seem to work out--what the laws don't cover, peer pressure does.

being in the military is NOT serving your country, not anymore.

The strangest part is this, these muslims are not allowed to live under the protection of non-muslims (according to their koran, s5:51 "Believers, take not jewish people and Christians for your friends. They are but friends and protectors to each other." so how are they not killed by the other muslims?

The issue was resolved. Ignorant redneck made a mountain out of a mole hill based on what they thought they heard, as opposed to actually gathering facts. The guy on the video was making the owners out to be "towel-heads" and extremists, when, truth is, the guy, with his redneck supremist view on the world, is the problem.

Had the incident actually occurred, I would hope every American would want to run that store out of business. However, all this started from hearsay and the actual Army Reservist that was, theoretically, refused service, doesn't seem to have ever come forward during the protest to make a comment or settle the issue of what really was said and if it could have been a misunderstanding.

The dumbasses who were so quick to post this nonsense all over Facebook and organiz the protest and shoot a racial slur-filled video, should now be charged accordingly, especially, for disturbing the peace and the obstruction of a business' right to do business, and causing duress on the owner and employees. They should also be forced to pay restitution for any financial loss the business incurred.

It seems the gas station owners threw (or are going to throw) a party to smooth over and resolve any differences with the misguided protestors. Considering, the owners could sue for slander and other damages, I'd say the dimwit that started the rumor and the others that perpetuated the lies, are getting off pretty easy.

Well, let's see. No one knows who the "soldier" is. So people would only say "It was someone else." This is assuming they still have a video of the day.

Say what you want, but I try to avoid any gas station or hotel run by people from India or Muslims. Never will you find a more filthy, poorly run place.

There are three stations in my immediate area, and they are so dirty, run down and they have the highest prices. Not to mention if you are white, well, they treat you like the living dead.

Call me racist, bigot, or any other name you wish.. I DON'T CARE. I am not judging them by their skin or race, but by the fruit or actions.

If it happened, the station should be fined. If this was a white owned station, then all hell would have broke loose. Yes, you have a right to refuse service, but this is discrimination and a spit in the eye of all those who have served.

It is like the homeonwner who refused to rent to the military man, bacause it went againt his beliefs. Well, he wouldn't have the right to his beliefs, if not for the members of the armed service who gave their lives..

There was at least one witness who said he was standing behind the soldier. All they have to do is find the tape with that guy--he was on the news, should be easy enough to identify.

Seriously, just because it is against a soldier in his private vehicle you get all upset? If the soldier was in a government vehicle, then they broke the law. I am all for this gas station refusing service if they choose to...

Assuming they would still have a video. More importantly, the way things work is that people who claim something happened are the ones who have to prove it. This "prove yourself to be innocent" mentality is against the American way.

You may be right but i want to give you my account. While traveling in an unknown place we stopped and the owner was ME-ern. He was letting us know where all the watering holes were (drinking town). We told him he didn't need to continue because we don't drink. He was just polite to begin with but he really lit up when we told him that and treated us with respect. There was a settle difference but enough to notice politeness and the respect. It's POSSIBLE the treatment is about morals and the way one carries themselves more than it is about beliefs. Just offering another viewpoint and explanation. Kind of like some people treat others with a foul mouth and tattoos covering their bodies with less respect than others---not that it's right or wrong but it happens.

Being right and being out of business are two different things.

You are right in a court of law, it's up to the accuser. This is not about the law. This is about peer pressure and boycotting. If the owner wants to keep his business coming in, he should do it to put a stop to this if it's non-sense.

You can get all lawyery and who is right--it doesn't mean crap in this type of scenario. It's all about damage control and they need to do it. Even the party isn't going to make it better for most.
