TBar1984 (OP) User ID: 13725461 United States 06/13/2012 10:31 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Oh look, here's an interesting statement, "The telescopes can work together, to form a giant ‘interferometer’, the ESO Very Large Telescope Interferometer, allowing astronomers to see details up to 25 times finer than with the individual telescopes. The light beams are combined in the VLTI using a complex system of mirrors in underground tunnels where the light paths must be kept equal to distances less than 1/1000 mm over a hundred metres. With this kind of precision the VLTI can reconstruct images with an angular resolution of milliarcseconds, equivalent to distinguishing the two headlights of a car at the distance of the Moon..." An array of four "Unit Telescopes", each with a main mirror of 8.2 metres in diameter. With one such telescope, images of celestial objects as faint as magnitude 30 have been obtained in a one-hour exposure. This corresponds to seeing objects that are four billion times fainter than those seen with the naked eye. Quoting: TBar1984 The VLT also has four additional 1.8-metre moveable Auxiliary Telescopes. One of the most exciting features of the VLT is the option to use it as a giant optical interferometer (VLT Interferometer or VLTI). This is done by combining the light from several of either the Unit Telescopes or Auxiliary Telescopes. In this interferometric mode, the telescope has a vision as sharp as that of a telescope the size of the separation between the most distant mirrors. For the VLTI with the Auxiliary Telescopes, this is up to 200 metres.... More Here: [link to www.eso.org] and they STILL can't find Nibiru.... Or they found it and simple cannot tell anything. Who knows for sure! You know that VLT time is controlled and not only that, I believe information is also controlled. Btw, good thread. |

I believe it's mentioned in the top video. World's largest telescope project gets green light Published June 13, 2012 [link to www.foxnews.com] "Plans for the mega-telescope, appropriately called the European Extremely Large Telescope (E-ELT), were approved by the governing council of the European Southern Observatory (ESO), officials announced Monday. "This is an excellent outcome and a great day for ESO," ESO Director General Tim de Zeeuw said in a statement. "We can now move forward on schedule with this giant project." The E-ELT will be a 129-foot (39-meter) segmented-mirror telescope sited atop a mountain called Cerro Armazones in northern Chile, close to ESO’s Paranal Observatory. It will be many times more sensitive than any other instrument of its kind, researchers said..." [link to www.space.com] I humbly propose that they turn the entire moon into an extra-ultra Large Telescope array With adaptive optics, the yellow lasers, it's cheaper to just build it on a mountain top in the boonies. My question is what will they call the next larger one? "The next step beyond the VLT is to build a European Extremely Large optical/infrared Telescope (E-ELT) with a 40-metre-class primary mirror. The E-ELT will be "the world's biggest eye on the sky" - the largest optical/near-infrared telescope in the world and ESO is drawing up detailed construction plans together with the community. The E-ELT will address many of the most pressing unsolved questions in astronomy. It may, eventually, revolutionise our perception of the Universe, much as Galileo's telescope did, 400 years ago..."
