Question for Christians--Crystals

Some people listen to affirming tapes. So, what would be the difference with concern focused on a crystal? I had a Catholic friend give me a rosary--I'm not Catholic but appreciated the intent and it reminded me of her concern. My wedding ring reminds me of certain things, too. I don't find any of the above sinful but lovely.
