Gamepads are a type of energy field suspended over the ocean. So imagine a brick and mortar stadium on the ocean.

Land is much more rare and difficult to get clean water and energy to in my time.

Gamepads are basically giant computers and power plants which construct realistic fields and structures.

They do leak- especially when made poorly or beat down. This is kind of common in NFL and NHHL games.
