According to FT's Chris Adams and CNBC's Ross Westgate, the Spanish 10-year yield just broke through 7.0 percent on Tradeweb.

This is getting scary.

The cost for the Spanish government to borrow for 10 years hit a euro-era, all-time high of 6.90 percent this morning. They've pulled back ever so slightly.

Still, this goes to show that despite this weekend's announced Spanish bank bailout, the country still faces its problems.

Italy just wrapped up a big bond auction, and the borrowing costs (as reflected by higher yields) were much higher across the board. DJ FX Trader breaks down the results of the three bond issuances.

Meanwhile, the 10-year yield is right around 6.3 percent, which is the highest level since January.

Italy sells 4.5 bln euros; 3yr yields rise to 5.3%! LONDON (MarketWatch) -- Italian borrowing costs rose in keenly-watched auctions on Thursday, with yields on 3-year bonds surging to the highest level in six months. Yields for the 3-year bond rose to 5.30% from 3.91% at a previous auction, while yields on bonds maturing in 2019 rose to 6.10% from 5.21% previously. In total the government succeeded in selling its maximum targeted 4.5 billion euros ($5.7 billion). In the secondary market, yields on 10-year Italian government bonds /quotes/zigman/4869096/delayed IT:10YR_ITA +1.01% rose to 6.30% from 6.22% at Wednesday's close. [link to www.marketwatch.com]

Its too late. Nothing on earth can effectively deal with the debt banks worldwide hold. This Euro experiment was an absolute disaster as was the false boom it generated.I remember telling friends in Belfast prior to emigrating in 1993 that the South would live to regret the false boom.

7% will drain ALL of the cash-flow from these countries.

Spain will default very shortly if they can't get bond prices down.

Same in the U.S. if our bond rates go to 6% we'll be unable to meet cash flow due to all the short term funding we'll be rolling over.

That is, 6% on our bonds eats up ALL available incoming cash on payments.

All this bond yield mess would be solved if the ECB just lent unlimited money at 2% to EU countries.
German policies are about ruling the eurozone and milking profits out of the current situation, instead of making the EU work.
