this, of course, does not bode well for the market....the house of cards is coming down...question: does anyone have any suggestions concerning what stocks or bonds one may invest in betting that inflation is coming and the dollar will devalue?

CPI Falls A WHOPPING 0.3% In May! UPDATE: CPI fell a bigger than expected 0.3 percent in May, surpassing analyst expectations for 0.2 percent.

Excluding food and energy, CPI rose 0.2 percent.

Today's number puts year-over-year inflation at 1.7 percent, well below the Federal Reserve's target 2 percent rate of price growth.

We'll see if this can sway the Federal Open Market Committee to take stronger action when they meet to discuss monetary policy on June 19-20.

Damn, I hate when my brother-in-law is right...I'd stay with consumer based product related, people will still need wash and eat. PCG and the like.

CPI lower - really? Which Item(s), in the mystical basket of goods has fallen cause I gotta tell you I see no lowering of price for ANYTHING.

Then again, conveniently, they don't count food cost or fuel costs which probably account for at least 33% of peoples spending.

You have to, at some point, come to the realization that EVERYTHING that comes from the government is an attempt at manipulating the public's opinion, in essence a lie.

That is a distortion. The Inflation rate for the year is over Two Percent.

They do not count food or fuel for the CORE CPI, but that is not what is used for the actual CPI.

I'd look at energy stocks. Of course, precious metals, ammo, and food are good investments as well.

Utility Companies are usually a safe bet in a sour market.

Typically yielding 2%-5% divendends, plus any price increases.
