It wouldn't do squat to remove radioactive substances. Just washing it with soap will remove just as much, but in each case you have to actually TOUCH the fruit, which is where the danger lies. Then there's all the radioactive substances INSIDE the fruit that it took up from the water and soil. This is a situation beyond terrible. AND IT"S REAL |
ChiChi Mondavi User ID: 294926 Canada 07/30/2012 08:54 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Grapes from 2011 hasn't even been bottled yet. Grapes harvested in 2011 sit in a huge barrel for about 6 months to a year(when yeast is added and the skins are shoveled out), and then they are put in smaller barrels; which also sit for another year, and then they are bottled. |

Quoting: ChiChi Mondavi 294926 Not sure if you are a wine drinker, check out Trader Joe;s and see. I used to drink an organic, sulfite free wine called Well Red - but all the 2010 has been sold out and yes 2011 has been on the shelves for a couple months now. Wine ferments anywhere from 3 months upward, depending on the sugar, and what the manufactures are looking for. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 16591647 United States 11/17/2012 09:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Some truth here as I see 2011 Californian wine being sold everywhere. Last week I bought a "mystery" wine from "Fresh and Easy" supermarket. It said organic red wine yet ....no where on the bottle did it give you and indication of the year that it was produced. To find the date, after searching on end, it was stamped in ink on the bottom of the bottle in superfine black ink. Sounds like hiding to me. |
Houndjog User ID: 26157991 United States 04/15/2013 09:38 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Try buying a wine at Trader Joes or Sprouts. It seems like EVERYWHERE they are dumping 2011 wine. Can't find but a bottle or two of wines at Trader Joes that are not 2011. And is anyone testing these wines? LOL? Of course not! Drink up! Get rid of the evidence! Peace out! |

Now, that is all you find in the stores is wine that has no date on it anymore. Why change a tradition of clearly stating when the wine was produced? Conspiracy theory here! Thanks! |

Of course not! Drink up! Get rid of the evidence! Peace out! Stop making a contoversy over nothing. This is common practice. People who are wine drinkers know that most varietals are released about 2 years after harvest. Next year you will see 2012 hitting the shelves, then 2013 during the 2015 calendar year. The higher quality varietals (your Merlots and Cabs) age a little longer, most typically in oak. Steel barrel aged wines are not aged as long as in oak, and are therefore bottled and released sooner. Nothing to see here folks. |

AND IT"S REAL Agreed, you can't wash radiation off the grape - maybe radioactive dust but if it has been on the grape for over a few minutes, it's already radiated the entire grape/foodstuff. That's like when they spray people down at nuclear plants when there is an accident - if it isn't done immediately, it doesn't do much good. 'situation beyond terrible' - you got that right. I normally am not one to stick my head in the sand but on this one, and at this point, I don't see the situation getting any better -only worse for Japan, then U.S., Europe, parts of Asia and eventually the entire world. It is an ELE or near on imo. |

I get to surf in this sh*t then need to take a baking soda bath in hopes it'll help. Writing is on the wall now ....... wake up! I live in Los Angeles I eat fruits, vegetables, fish and yes I drink wine from Napa valley. Yup...you be my neighbor BUT I buy my wine not from above the equater . The soil is contaminated from the big fall out rain. Try buying your fruits and veggies from South America. Radiation is accumulative....try googling 15 blue fin tuna caught off the coast of San Diego .....all contaminated with Fukushima radiation. Bon Appetite! |

She recommends washing all your fruit and veggies with a 35% Food Grade Hydrogen Perioxide to remove radiation. She also said that our cows are a more dangerous source to eat since they eat the "contaminated grass" which radiation falls on through the dust. Quoting: Houndjog 11698431 [link to www.youtube.com] What's the problem with wine???? BIG PROBLEM .....just read in Natural News that the grapes are NOT WASHED prior to squeezing .... [link to www.naturalnews.com] So long Napa Valley for me!!!!! You can't wash radiation out of grapes. |

Eagle # 1 User ID: 46761862 United States 09/25/2013 08:22 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Just HOW do you 'Wash radiation OFF ", when the vine/plant has ALREADY taken it up from the SOIL, where the rains have deposited it, and placed it INTO the grapes ? However, I did check my red Port Wine from CA and found little to NO GAMMA radiation. My survey meter does NOT show aloha and beta, however. Eagle |
