Exporting American jobs and manufacturing was stupid, but that is what heavy regulation and taxes does. I know all thw lefties will jumpo up and down and blame Bush but who was it that turned the White House into a chinese Motel Six? Why are we transferring military technology to countries like China to have them make critical parts of our equipment? It should all be made right here in teh USA and our govt should not outsource orders or jobs overseas, least of all the crap of Obama giving Sytel in Barcelona the job of tallying presidential votes, that is bullcrap.

You heard about the wiping out of the middle class, Its a frightening fact, ever since the shutting down of American manufacturing plants and the stock market crash of October 2008. Many businesses have folded and 90 percent of all start ups will fail.

The only way many others are staying alive is in their parents home. I know a poor family, dead broke that had to move into their Fathers beautiful 400,000 dollar home. Its got the luxury kitchen and luxury deck and bathrooms.

I know another family too of a retired doctor that had to take in his children and grandkids into his 1 million dollar home, hes a doctor.

Even if your parents house is valued at only 50-100,000, and the quarters are cramped, the chances of the adult children moving in are high.

Multi generations under one roof is now the norm, not by choice, but by sheer economic survival.

Its only the Elderly who are keeping our nation alive !

They are the only ones that have their house paid for. Even if they are the old houses from the 40's 50's, 60's and 70s, Its all paid for and they are taking in their adult children .

You dont hear fuss and riots yet cause all the broke people found a older relative to live with. You see people still staying afloat, having nice things, cause its only cause of the hard work of their parents before the Big Corps shipped off all the jobs to China, India and Mexico.

The younger boomers and generation x and y still have parents to fall back on. Its the younger generation thats screwed,

And how about the kids who dont want to be blue collar workers? Harsh fact, More and more University and college students are now so deeply in debt, they have no hope of buying a house.
Student debts of 100,000- 150,000 dollars are now the norm. You hear of all the college graduates having to take waitressing or waiter jobs (pink collar workers) to try and pay off their loan cause they cant find a job that caters to their degree.

I feel sorry for anyone 25 and under, They are the ones with no hope.

nope. When we were losing our house my in laws had my brother in law call and let my wife know that we (+ 2 small kids) would not be able to stay with them even temporarily (couple in a 4 bedroom mortgage free house). Then they went on a nice vacation and we moved in to our car.

Not sure about the older generations, But my generation(20's) are tired of this shit. Not tired as in I want you to listen to me complain but are looking for a solution. Hopefully we can all come together as one and stand together, If not... I'll stand on my own as i've always done in the past.

I am a boomer. All my adult children and the fiance of my daughter are still living with us. My daughter and her fiance just bought a house, and my Son is being recruited into the Green Berets or Military Intelligence. He goes to Boot Camp in September. There's no speaking to him until I'm blue in the face that will keep him from his supposed destiny. Arrrg. He has a GeneralGeorge Patton Complex.

There's no jobs of much value for these young people anymore, save but the very lucky or connected.

I hate what the Boomers have done to this country. I myself am a Shadow Boomer. I try to survive after the Glut of Boomers have already laid waste to the economy with their greed and sheer size like a plague of locusts.

I can't imagine how tough it is for Gen-Xers. I think the best thing to do for Gen-Xers, without the means for an education or connection, is to work completely in the Black Market.

In fact, someone needs to start a www.BlackMarketJobs.com website for the Gen-Xers and younger or get welfare to bring the system down even quicker.

Lastly, Gen-Xers should try to start class action suits within their states over the economic conditions they've been forced into.

I dont know why they aren't already rioting and protesting. It boggles my mind. Instead, they're committing suicide by the droves or are turning to drugs and ending up in prison. Are we becoming a prison nation/planet?

Just a heads up for those living off their elderly parents.

In the USA there is a little thing called, "The Medicaid Recovery Act".

If your grandparents or parents have been using Medicade and they think they can just leave a house or vehicles or anything to their kid they have a huge wake up call to find out about.
If the kid thinks that once they bury their Medicaid using elderly and are betting they will inherit the house or possessions they too need a wake up call.

You see folks, it isn't really discussed much because the Government knows if kids knew too much about the recovery act they would likely kick their elderly to the curb or at least cut ties with them.

You see, at the court processing the "last will/s" at probate time Medicaid, gets to "Recover" most of what it payed out to care for Medicaid patients.
Medicaid gets their cut out of the estate way before any inheritor gets jack shyte, if the amount to be recovered exceeds the cash in the dead persons bank accounts, which it usually does the entire estate, house and cars and furniture, all possessions are liquidated.

Often times the inheritor child is left homeless, broke and completely dazed.

The only way to step around this is BEFORE the elderly ever use Medicaid they must put all their possessions into a NON-Revocable trust to their child.
Medicaid can break a common revocable trust to do recovery of funds so it must be a Non-Revocable trust.
