Haiti rapidly regressing to savagery - did we fail Haiti ?

The West has rebuilt Haiti three times in this century alone. Just because you teach a person to fish doesn't mean they will actually get up off their ass and feed themselves especially after getting so many free ones from the west.

It's very sad what's going on there to those poor people.

Why would "We" have failed them ? A country should be able to look after itself without needing babysitters 24/7, I mean come on all our countries were like that at one point or another but yet we found a way to work through it without any help... If anything we are hurting their country by hurting, They need to learn things and figure things out for themselves... What is the old saying... Catch a man a fish feed him for a day, Teach a man to fish feed him for a lifetime, It's exactly the same thing here... They don't need aid they need lessons.

Haiti would probably be better off becoming a state or section of another country. Then it would have a broader base of talent and resources. It should give itself to Brazil, or Venezuela, or the US, and let the bigger country absorb and take care of them.

My Christian church is spending thousands of dollar for building a church and a school for children overthere.
