1) who could pay for a year of college with a part-time summer job,

2) who did not graduate college 5-6 figures in debt

3) who didn't even need college to get a decent job that could support a family, buy a car, buy a house

4) who could a buy a house with three years' salary

Oh I havent had the luxury of whining for years and I have secured as much as I can for myself and my family.My parents had quite a lot but if you happen to have a greed driven sibling then you dont get included in the pot to live the good life.I am of the opinion that if someone will go that far to steal that its best to let them rot in their own greed while living it up.So I live modestly and have my family,she cruises around the world on her 'pitense' and worships her money and no family.lol.So I guess it depends on which way of life you see as the good life.For me I made the right choice because nothing could ever take the place of my family.
I suppose what upsets me most is that the boomer generation knows we are broke and even though they have already gotten way more benefits than any other can ever hope for they still wont give an inch as far as giving up anything and actually will get mad that people dont want to work and pay their benefits knowing full well the working people will never get what they are entitled.It will run out for ALL of us at some point and that will include them also.

I am a 61 year old boomer, and have no idea what benefits you are talking about. All I have ever had is what I earned. And most of that has been stolen, or devalued.

I was broke at 20, at 30, at 40, at 50, and at 60 disabled with NO BENEFITS and a 64 year old husband who was unemployed and his paid for benefits had run out.
Neither one of us ever had the life you imagine we did.
But, our parents did.
