Re: Audio: Urgent news regarding Ron Paul's campaign!
...

I know his point was more than what the definition is. I'm saying his definition doesn't matter.

No, what I was saying was that his point that the definitions don't match isn't a substantive point for saying that our version of the definition is a perversion.

What the American libertarians' deem as liberty may not be the same as Chomsky's, but that doesn't give him the right to denigrate our definition.

So, onto my question for you, how exactly does having a very limited government in an American libertarian's view, create tyranny?
 Quoting: Rebelucio

No, you've missed the point again.

Liberty isn't something that's defined in some odd way in different places.

Chomsky says, very clearly, that US Libertarians are saying one thing, but their policies would lead to something else entirely.

They would destroy democracy and replace it with unrepresentative corporate bodies and most importantly, that they'd create a corporate tyranny.

No one anywhere would willingly define Liberty as tyranny. But Libertarians SELL tyranny disguised as liberty.

That's the point.

Libertarianism is un-serious... it's simply a front for corporate propaganda.

Any system that would call for the deregulation of corporate lobbying, and for allowing corporate monopolies, is anti-American.
 Quoting: seethelight

Whoa whoa whoa, bro! You speak of successful anti-constitutionalist corporate lobbying. That is not my libertarianism.

Destroy democracy? At the federal level yeah. We need indirect democracy in order to have fair representation. Those representatives need to be bound by rules. That is a republic.

People have a choice who hires them. People have a choice on if they want to stay with their employer. People have a choice on whether or not they want to take a risk in starting their own business. And most importantly, in a strict American libertarian constitutional society, corporations would not be able to devalue life as they are now.

You have to understand that any regulation of corporate lobbying without regard for the constitution of the U.S.A. will be instituted by those very lobbyists.
 Quoting: Rebelucio

And you have to understand this very basic thing:

If corporate regulation was destroyed, and corporations were allowed to form monopolies, then they would write whatever rules they wanted.

The government wouldn't shrink, it would be the size that benefited the corporations.

There's no such thing as an invisible hand or an real undiluted will of the consumer.

The big fish will simply take their new freedoms and rewrite the laws, and pass many more, while the naive people that voted in Libertarians stand ans stare and say, why'd that corporate board get MY liberty??!

It's a complete failure to understand the problem.
 Quoting: seethelight

First off, don't call my way of thinking anti-American. Thinking is American.

Corporations are writing their own rules, making their own regulations, forming increasing monopolies, and buying politicians.

How will they take our freedoms if there are American libertarians there to back up our freedoms.

You're saying that if Democrats and Republicans changed their names to Libertarian, we'd be in the same system, because you are describing our current system. I'm saying burn down the system and let the American libertarians take their place. At least that's how I'm voting.

I don't know why you keep blaming "Libertarians" for what already exists, since Libertarians were not the ones who created the existing corporate oligarchies.

Lawyers for Ron Paul are taking over the Ron Paul campaign and are fighting for nothing less than the Republican Nomination. Platform planks are not a legitimate concession.

Keep believing the baloney. You're being urinated on and you're not smart enough to realize it.

You've been sold out, and it won't be long before its even more OBVIOUS.

If you haven't learned how to play chess yet, I suggest that YOU DO. Because for those that play, these maneuvers that they have made have put you and all of the Ron Paul followers in were picture perfect plays that you were too blind to see.

Let me walk you through it...
1. Ron Paul runs and represents the Libertarian party because it appeals to the "liberty movement," especially during a time when its politically popular to be "anti-establishment."
2. Because Ron Paul has a FIXED RECORD that makes it APPEAR that he is "for the people" he can cordon off delegates that would otherwise go to any opposition of Romney. Meanwhile, this FIXED record is what his supporters will constantly use as a positive in favor of a "Paul" presidential bid. Little do they know that all of these people have always RUN together which is the REASON why Ron Paul has had decades of experience in Washington. -If he were truly anti-establishment...HE WOULD HAVE BEEN DEAD.
3. Not only does Ron Paul help in roping the dissatisfied of the Occupy movements back into "change within the system," but, he keeps them from destroying and killing bankers with the SHEER HOPE that revolution comes from within. -LOL- That's funny. Ron Paul THEN takes his movement from the Libertarian side to the GOP. Yep, he becomes a REPUBLICAN. Not for the sake of actually "being a republican" but, just so that he can actually participate in debates and get necessary "public funding." --LOL-- Good stuff. Couldn't have written it better myself.
4. Once Paul has gained popularity, he chicken hawks enough delegates to NOT affect Romney's bid and to keep all competition at bay; then, Paul begins the process of deconstruction. Deconstruction involves claiming that he can no longer win and selling off the Ron Paul database of supporters. Additionally, Rand Paul begins the process of a new, long, and lavish political career with the GOP.
5. Ron Paul disappears into obscurity, not answering any questions or rocking the boat while having set his NAMESAKE in to being considered a formidable force in politics.

-Checkmate- And this is what it means to be a POLITICIAN. WAKE UP...

The fools have been played ONCE AGAIN....-

I don't want businesses as government any more than I want government in charge of businesses.

Corporations and special interests only have as much power as we give them through our elected representatives. If we elect representatives that know they aren't accountable to the set of laws that they are bound by(the Constitution), then we allow any and every law that they pass(including those that corporations tell them to pass). On the other hand, if we elect American libertarians, we know that they will not be influenced by corporate interests and will leave our communities to their own devices as long as they are within constitutional boundaries.

How do you propose we stop corporate lobbyists from writing our regulations?

WTF were you saying again?

Here's what I'm SAYING AGAIN...here's ONE example. But, I'm sure you have a PERFECTLY LOGICAL explanation for it...

Here's another example: Make sure you look at the 2nd video posted within the same thread as well.
Thread: Did Ron Paul SELL your email lists to Romney ! ! ! ! ??????

Here's another example:

And another...

Just wait...the best has yet to come.

How do you propose we stop corporate lobbyists from writing our regulations?
 Quoting: Rebelucio

There is no way when the government are themselves major share-holders and owners of the corporations you are trying to regulate.

It magic thinking at it's more insane.

who cares about the votes... what does this thread have anything to do with votes lol.
 Quoting: Heretic_333

It partially does have to do with votes. These lawyers are coming out because they are taking action against blatant election fraud.

His point is moot because he knows there is a problem but doesn't offer a solution.
 Quoting: Rebelucio

Regardless of obvious election fraud. Caucuses and primaries are glorified beauty contests designed to AVG or project delegates for X candidate.

I think they should focus on the bound delegates myth.

In reality. The delegates happen at a personal, state, then country level.

If RP delegates are told to, or are forced to, do anything they dont want to do, Then it will be the people vs RNC. And we have much evidence that above is the case.

I just hope it happens before august.
 Quoting: Heretic_333

I'm with you on that, but I think it helps their argument if they can point to varying cases of election fraud to validate their case that the unbinding of delegates is only fair if the votes weren't counted correctly. It could help, I think.
 Quoting: Rebelucio

confirming voter fraud, before repairing the bound and unbound rule will run up some serious time.

I didnt listen. But I hope its the same court case.

Re: Audio: Urgent news regarding Ron Paul's campaign!
The problem is corporations and special interests controlling government. The solutions isn't, "get rid of government," which SHOULD be obvious (and is to most people), but to FIX government, by removing these influences.

And guess what that means?

Regulation.

But NOT regulation written by corporations and their lobbyists.

This is why I could NEVER vote for a Libertarian. Their solutions would destroy what's left of our democratic republic and replace it, completely, with a corporate tyranny.

Note what Chomsky says: government is highly flawed, but at least there a semblance of accountability; in a Libertarian state the only thing the "government" would be accountable too are unelected board members.
 Quoting: seethelight

You're delusional if you think more government is going to fix the problems of this country. We already have the largest fucking government in human history, and you still think we need more?

The definition of insanity is to continue the same behavior while expecting a different result.

Criminals and sociopaths will always gravitate towards the power of the State. Giving the State more power is simply giving the criminal sociopath more power!

When are you people going to figure this out? Government is the problem, it will never be the solution.
 Quoting: Shingen

Sigh.

There is no system for governing hundreds of millions of people, representing trillions of dollars, that will be small.

As for my wanting "more government," I don't want that ideologically. What I want is a non-corrupt functioning government that stops corporations and special interests from making selfish laws that benefit the minority.

That's not by definition big or small.

When libertarians see the word "regulation" they flip out.

Ron Paul wants to follow Hitler in over-riding the voter's will, to force himself to become president despite the votes of the people, and to use nationalism and similar propaganda to promote himself as savior of the people.

This is how the anti-Christ will also act. Will appear just like this. Not saying Ron Paul is the anti-Christ, but we can see in him how and why the anti-Christ will get in power.
