Invited to join freemasons
A while ago I was invited by a couple of guys to join the freemasons. Nice guys. Met them at a regular church. Told them I wasn't really into it and took a pass. Good move? Or should I have signed on?

The point was the question about whether or not it was a good or bad move to turn them down. A simple request for opinions. But you're clearly a subgenious knuckledragging illiterate Angie who can't grasp that, eh?

Well I didn't want to share a girl with another guy. It would have been a sausage fest. Plus I was still a virgin back then.

I'm a boy scout who made it to the highest rank, Eagle Scout. The Freemasons are highly active in scouting and they even show up to our Eagle Scout Court of Honor events. I'm actually considering joining them myself. It is a GREAT networking opportunity, and they help their own as often as possible. They contribute a lot to charity events, and the like.

I believe they get a bad rap. Not all of them are associated with Illuminati after all.
My friends, we are all living in extraordinary interesting times. The events to come will undoubtedly be some of the most important in our history. Embrace the change to come.

I love you all!

I guess that's what I was getting at. Is there legitimately freaky shit going on in there, or is it just a bunch of dudes doing professional favors for each other where possible? Or something else altogether? I get the whole conspiracy theory version of freemasonry, but how much of that is nuttery? 90+% of the shit I read on GLP is pretty much insane.

Re: Invited to join freemasons
Thats funny i was asked a few weeks ago at a yard sale. I live in NH they asked if i wanted to have dinner sit down and talk. I said i'll think about it then have them the hand shake lol. The crazy thing about this yard sale was ever one had one. I went to the libary and bought a few planets for 3.25 i gave her a 5 she should of only gave me back 1.75 but gave me a nickle with the freemason hand shake on back it freaked me out. I just dont know about them. I think they are on a need to know basis so they think they are doing good but in the long run they aren't.

i like having free thought.

Re: Invited to join freemasons
In my opinion people just have a fear and jealousy of the unknown...There is nothing unholy or sinister about them...I think the problem is that some preachers are out on a crusade and have their followers convinced they worship the devil, make sacrifices, and other non-sense.

They provide so much for our community's children and some of the most outstanding men in our area are members. My preacher is actually a Mason, and he is the holiest man I know.

Rather or not you made a bad decision is really up to you. If your interested in networking, working charity events, and attending lodge meetings then you probably would have enjoyed it. Maybe you could go to an open lodge night and get to know some members, you may change your mind or you may realize this just might not be for you...Either way, keep an open mind and don't be influenced by those who don't know what they are talking about. Make sure the decision is your own!!!!!

OP,

Much of the negative things I've heard about the Freemasons have been wild speculations at best. I mean, is it possible that they're true? Yes, of course. But, look at it this way, their public track record is quite good, so it pretty much speaks for itself. People look for conspiracies ANYWHERE they can possibly find them. Just because they are a secret society, they are automatically evil and are out to get you. I think I'm going to join them, even after all of the bull shit i've heard about them on GLP and elsewhere.

I hope i am of some help to you. Best of luck, OP

I thought the Freemasons didn't ask people to join. YOU have to ask.

There used to be bumper stickers that read "2 be 1 ask 1", it had the Masonic logo on it too.

Re: Invited to join freemasons
answer these 3 questions yes before and if you join...1,can you draw, write songs, jingles or build/create anything etc....that makes you a mason/builder...2,are you a free thinker whom reasons things out instead of taking anything at face value? that would make you a free thinker..3,do you believe in a Creator? you must answer yes to a Creator or you deny yourself...so if you can believe in all 3 ,you are already a Free-mason...and if you can deny your ego and your smart enough to have the will power not to put smoke/booze or anything unnatural or a bad diet into your temple, that makes you a master mason already and as a master mason whom cares for himself you must care for others the same way...Freemasonry 101...class dismissed...Idol1

How unfortunate for some rulers when men, women, and children continue to think... Keep repeating the lies loud enough and long enough and just maybe the people will start to believe the lies again and good luck with that...finding your energy open until mars becomes raging aries...

Re: Invited to join freemasons
I lived in a small town and worked with some Masons. They started giving me pennies for no reason and shaking my hand with there for finger extended. Than i was asked to clear some tall grass for a meeting they where having on halLoween and for some reason i Blessed the area because i had some Spiritual background and family. The next day i got the burn from my Boss and it was so bad i quit and hitchhiked home than at that night someone came up to me and said WHY DID YOU DO IT than my wife left me and there where detectives comming around saying i should set my wife up or she was going to get everything. I phoned a cop i knew from a kid and he told me i was getting set up and to leave dodge so i left and that was 15 years a go. Since than i can write a book. I have grown closer to God and rely on hime for everything. Oh and there is a Hells Angel connection i could get into but i wont.

You don't get invited to join the Freemasons. That is against there rules and teachings, you have to ask to join the Freemasons and seek them out.

Sorry but either those 2 were pretty shitty masons or the OP is bullshitting.
