BRKG: Rocket fired onto Israel at request of Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood; Mursi leading in polls with 2/3 of vote

Wonder is Syria,Iran and Egypt are going to use Hamas to start something with Israel first? Very interesting...I am assuming Israel won't respond right now...but another attack linked to Egypt and the Israeli's may respond.

Wow the Israel intel is off the charts. The rocket was fired less then 24hrs ago and they know for a fact that it wa "fired by Hamas forces at the request of Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood movement" Did it do the usual no damage?

yes..you got it..the muslim brotherhood is NOT a local organization and they have their OWN plan for the middle east, and will work with iran/hezbollah when bringing down israel is a shared interest

they have been ruling out options throughout the day, as it's a GRAD rocket and new location. i doubt they made this up, they don't want to push buttons with egypt right now. the muslim brotherhood on the other hand has a lot to gain by doing this on election day

Second rocket hit located at Mitzpe Ramon

An additional launched missile was located in Mitzpe Ramon in southern Israel. Security forces estimate both rockets were fired last night from the Sinai Peninsula on orders of the Muslim Brotherhood party, in the midst of current tensions in Egypt and the elections currently taking place.

Hey tar...if these elections don't go well over the weekend could we see more of this? If so...I would think I direct strike on and Egyptian military target would be warranted. This is just another normal day for Israel. No way they would strike Egyptian military after this. Israel does not want to start shit with Egypt at the moment. They have Iran, syria, Lebanon with Hezbollah to the North.

The Muslim Brotherhood is Hamas, i.e. hundreds of bus bombings on Israel..if they gain control of Egypt's military resources and manpower, things are gonna backtrack bigtime. I don't see a preemptive strike, because it isn't the kind of thing you can solve militarily. Best they can do is try and support friendlier forces in the country and use pressure to isolate an MB Egypt. What's more likely is that Egypt and certain forces in it, along with its Gaza no-man's-land extension, will become more closely aligned with forces seeking to weaken Israel, such as Iran and Hezbollah in the north, and that in whatever conflict breaks out in the future, Egypt has just switched sides.

Remember, it was the military rule that kep egypt in peace the last 20-30 years.

Clearly the military in egypt does not want to be completly and utterly destroyed like the last 5 times it attacked Israel.

Clearly the military will not allow muslim brotherhood terrorists to directly srart a war they will all die in.

you are correct .. and there are issues other than israel at stake as well, such as the fact that many people in egypt do not want a brotherhood state for cultural and religious reasons

Israel is always getting hit by rockets.
Even when rocker Gene Simmons and his family were over there
authorities came along and told them they were taking precautions for them because a rocket had hit.
If it was USA or Russia getting hit by rockets like that,
there would be hell to pay!
It would probably be WW3.

Riiiiight, Every rocket attack israel has ever laughingly thrown out on the news wire looks like a bottle rocket that simply fell on the ground. Never have they ever shown a picture of a rocket attack ever blowing up anything or anyone.

Yet, they retaliate by killing others across the borders with shelling and full scale responce. Israel has no problem doing that, but let a bottle rocket fall upon the holy mess and all hell breaks lose on whoever they want dead today.

Why is that. Why do we not hear anything other than a bottle rocket fell on the ground in israel and no buildings blown to shit, no people killed in numbers, only a bottle rocket fell and it was from palastinians, syrians, iranians, and now the muslim brothers in arms over in egypt.

Ever since the disengagement from Gaza, Israel got wedged into a position of defense, precaution and evacuation scenarios, instead of offense and preemption like the old days. A lot of it has to do with the Obama administration and also with Israel's booming economy and increasing subjugation to western influences that limit her political leeway in dealing with issues that the Europeans gravely misunderstand.
