Just looked at the 5 day tracking map expected to be only category 2 by landfall according to weather underground.i.e 70mph winds
 Quoting: khnum 455005

Have you ever BEEN in SUSTAINED 70 mph winds? A couple of years ago we had a storm come roaring right up the Willamette Valley in Oregon with sustained 45-50 mph winds (higher gusts). It was even scarier because it happened at night, in the dark, and you could hear the trees falling all around but couldn't see them or try to guess if the next one might be coming right through the roof. A huge number of people had heavy damage to their homes, and hundreds of thousands of trees went down. The roads to the Coast were closed for DAYS because of all the trees down, and people living in the country had plenty of wood for their wood stoves the next winter!

Now apply that to Japan, which is fairly flat, and you're talking about wiping out a LOT, even if it's "only" a Category 2.

Guchol, a tropical cyclone in the western Pacific, rapidly strengthened Saturday afternoon, local time. Winds are now in excess of 150 mph, making Guchol a super typhoon, the highest classification for tropical cyclones in the western Pacific.

WDPN31 PGTW 172100
MSGID/GENADMIN/JOINT TYPHOON WRNCEN PEARL HARBOR HI//
SUBJ/PROGNOSTIC REASONING FOR TYPHOON 05W (GUCHOL) WARNING NR 28//
RMKS/
1. FOR METEOROLOGISTS.
2. 6 HOUR SUMMARY AND ANALYSIS.
TYPHOON (TY) 05W (GUCHOL), LOCATED APPROXIMATELY 350 NM SOUTH OF
KADENA AB, OKINAWA, HAS TRACKED NORTHWARD AT 11 KNOTS OVER THE PAST
SIX HOURS. TY 05W HAS RECENTLY BEEN DOWNGRADED FROM SUPER TYPHOON
STATUS TO TYPHOON. ANIMATED ENHANCED INFRARED (EIR) SATELLITE IMAGERY
SHOWS THE SYSTEM HAS STARTED TO SHOW SIGNS OF WEAKENING AS THE EYE
DIAMETER HAS SLOWLY DECREASED OVER THE PAST SIX HOURS FROM 15 NM TO
10 NM AND IS BECOMING MORE RAGGED. THE DEEPEST CONVECTION REMAINS ON
THE SOUTHERN HALF OF THE SYSTEM, BUT CONVECTION ALONG THE
NORTHWESTERN QUADRANT HAS STARTED TO WEAKEN SLIGHTLY OVER THE PAST
SIX HOURS. THE EYEWALL REPLACEMENT CYCLE (ERC) HAS FINISHED WITH NO
IDENTIFIABLE IMPACT TO THE OVERALL INTENSITY. TY 05W HAS SHIFTED TO A
NORTHWARD TRACK AT THE WARNING TIME, AND SINCE ISSUING WARNING NUMBER
28, EIR IMAGERY IS INDICATING A SLIGHT TURN TO THE EAST-NORTHEAST AS
TY 05W APPEARS TO HAVE STARTED TO TRACK AROUND THE DEEP-LAYERED
SUBTROPICAL RIDGE (STR) AXIS. THE CURRENT POSITION IS BASED ON THE
EYE IN EIR AND AGREES WITH PGTW FIX. THE CURRENT INTENSITY IS
SLIGHTLY DECREASED TO 125 KNOTS BASED ON A 6.0/6.5 DVORAK FIX FROM
PGTW AND A 5.0/5.5 FROM RJTD BOTH SHOWING A SLIGHT WEAKENING TREND.
THIS AGREES WITH THE OBSERVED WEAKENING TREND NOTED IN EIR.
UPPER-LEVEL ANALYSIS INDICATES THE MESOSCALE ANTICYCLONE REMAINS
SLIGHTLY DISPLACED LOW-LEVEL CIRCULATION CENTER (LLCC). THIS FEATURE
CONTINUES TO VENT THE SYSTEM ALONG THE EQUATORWARD OUTFLOW CHANNEL.
THE POLEWARD CHANNEL HAS YET TO TAP INTO THE STRONG UPPER-LEVEL JET.
3. FORECAST REASONING.
A. NO CHANGE TO THE FORECAST PHILOSOPHY SINCE THE PREVIOUS
PROGNOSTIC REASONING MESSAGE.

Remember the massive fish die off near Japan a couple of days ago, or maybe a week+...
Then we are getting reports of Japan's radiation found in California bluefin tuna...
Now even if its a Cat 1 or even tropical storm winds its going to spread the radiations in all directions reguardless what levels they are.

Well, yes. I live in a Gulf Coast state and 70 mph winds are not all that bad. The point being they are certainly not anything like 150 mph winds.

Have YOU ever been in 150 mph winds? There is a big difference.
One of the most important aspects of conspiracy theories is being able to discern when there isn't one.

Oh yeah, like you'd understand anyway.

Radiations in the sea will effect El Nino.

The winds will be UNBELIEVABLE.

Um, the winds are going to 39-73mph at worst by the time it reaches Tokyo area.

Not a big deal.

If it keeps moving west after hitting Japan, it will carry radiation to the Hawaiian Islands pretty good. Probably boosty west coast radiation levels as well.

Sharply increasing hydrogen concentration in reactor2

Posted by Mochizuki on June 17th, 2012

In reactor2, hydrogen concentration is picking up since 6/14/2012 as well. Until 6/17/2012 11:00, it’s increased almost as double as before it picked up.
