Anonymous Coward User ID: 6231580 United States 06/18/2012 02:47 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Facebook Inc. (FB) has agreed to acquire Face.com, a start-up that users of the social site can deploy to instantly recognize contacts in photos, in a deal that brings both technology and talent to the newly public company. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1284522 [link to www.nasdaq.com] the CIA should be about raw intelligence. now more people are finding out the CIA association with facebook; this will make their job harder, and degrade the intel they DO gather. Therefore, facebook is a DEPRECIATING ASSET. Because more people will be on their guard, deceptive, giving false info, or will leave FB altogether. Not financial advice, but if I were the CIA i'd dump the FB shares and go back to formula.. The public is too sophisticated now. You cannot let people find out your affiliations. |

Epic Beard Guy User ID: 1079209 United States 06/18/2012 05:19 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Too late, FB has been evil for a while now. They take all the info you stupid enough to give them and sell it to anyone that will pay the price. Ther can be no expectation of privacy once you give your info to Face Book. Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. "America is at that awkward stage. It's too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards." -- Claire Wolfe |

Lot's of FaceBook members post pictures and descriptions of people who are non-members. I'm sure these people do not realise that their identities are publicly available on the internet. In effect, they become pseudo-members - without ever knowing about it. FaceBook knows at least something about almost everybody. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1663367 Poland 06/18/2012 08:44 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This is no surprise....they've been doing this for quite a while. They practically force you to "tag" your friends and family in photos before you post them. And when you don't...they keep reminding you that you didn't. I suspected that's what they were really doing. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 17689295 Even if you don't tag photo's, someone else might. I expect lots of people would be horrified to learn that they "exist" within FaceBook - without ever signing up. Which friend, or family member is "privately" (or publicly) discussing the minutia of your private life? |
