Re: Jesus' teachings are shameful and murderous!
<< Luke 6:27 >>
Jesus: But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you

<< 2 Samuel 19 >>
5 And Joab came into the house to the king, and said, Thou hast shamed this day the faces of all thy servants, which this day have saved thy life, and the lives of thy sons and of thy daughters, and the lives of thy wives, and the lives of thy concubines; 6 In that thou lovest thine enemies, and hatest thy friends. For thou hast declared this day, that thou regardest neither princes nor servants: for this day I perceive, that if Absalom had lived, and all we had died this day, then it had pleased thee well.

Not only are Jesus' teachings shameful, they are murderous! Loving people who want to kill you is suicidal and only someone who'd want to see you get killed would give such advice!

Consider the source! Who wrote the buy-bull? A group of people who consider humanity nothing more than cattle!
 Quoting: Anonymous Hero 5300916

What is shameful is that you know NOTHING about Jesus' Teachings and yet you think you can still make such foolish remarks.

Who are you trying to impress with your arrogance and stupidity?

Op, do you really sit around all day looking for shit to criticize about the bible? I know you copy/paste idiots all too well. Here is an idea. Leave me to my religion, worship and prayer to my Lord, and I wont kick your dumb ass next time I come in contact with you.

And if you want to find fault with every single sentence in the bible feel free to do so. just shut the fuck up and leave me alone.

What did you do to the poster OP?

poster clicked on your thread.......did you force him too?

If you did.....BAD OP!!!!

Other than that, the best you have been told here.........is don't ask Questions that you don't understand about the bible!!!

No one can explain.........blind faith is the answer. Now if you get Christmas presents every year, like I do...........then there is more proof for Santa. Believe in him, at least he turns up every year and gives you presents and Turkey and stuff.......!!

lmao

See, you're told to accept it on blind faith and not question it because its a bunch of BS that can't stand scrutiny!

Buddha said question everything and accept it only after you have analyzed it and it stands the test of reason. If it doesn't, reject it - even if I had told it to you myself!

Now that's something I agree with!

Re: Jesus' teachings are shameful and murderous!
I believe that the bible has been translated so many times and used for the church's own purposes that it can not be taken word for word.

When Jesus said those who live by the sword die by the sword; he was referring to people who kill others on a regular basis for their own occupation or personal gain. If a parent was protecting their child against a murderer, I do not think that Jesus would have found fault with their actions.

But like the gun laws in some areas, perhaps the church/state of that time did not want followers to consider defending themselves. If that is the case, it would have been very convenient to use and interpret that saying to their advantage.

Perhaps what Jesus meant is those who needlessly live by the sword, will create karma of being killed by the sword in their future.

Live by the sword may have meant killing people regularly.
 Quoting: LittleLuLu

The 'live by the sword die by the sword' is referring to soldiers - Roman soldiers, specifically. The hebrews wrote the buy-bull to help bring down the Roman Empire - and it worked! The Roman soldiers 'put away their sword' and were overrun by barbarian hordes.

You make accusations because you are ignorant. You have no case. You have only made yourself look foolish because you are stating something from a position of ignorance. Do you even know what those passages mean? Are you always taking things out of context?

Joab is speaking to David about what? So you even know? What happened? Why did Joab act in this manner?

Isn't David known as the Son of Man? Wasn't Christ known as the Son of Man?

Also, you confuse Zionists with ancient Hebrews, friend. Jesus was not a Zionist jewish, nor were any of the scribes of the Bible.

Get your facts straight. Stop trying to condemn something that only condemns you due to your ignorance.

Moving on.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 14090804

You're an idiot and you're projecting your ignorance unto me. You claim I have no case yet you offer NOTHING to refute it! That because you can't! So instead you just hurl insuts - like a monkey at the zoo!

Jesus could see in ourselves what we could not. He was a man of insight, self-awareness and love. That is why he was powerful and could live phenomenon most could only dream of.

He saw the spirit in a person, knew they lived before and will live again.

If they were murderous, they would eventually become a victim in some future time or a future incarnation; perhaps 5 lifetimes away in the future.

Stuff happens for a reason. The only way we can get a hold of our reality is to be like Jesus.

To take responsibility for our life. Be at the helm of our ship and know that the way things are we created from the past. Do not feel hate, fear and anger for the people and situations in our life. Observe, love, forgive, understand... Rise above mundane thinking and vision. The we get our power back.

It does not mean to be utterly passive and get stomped on. But to live our conscience. If we are protecting our loved ones from danger, do what we have to do without judgment to the perpetrators, only love and action. Then bless them and move on.
 Quoting: LittleLuLu

Jesus isn't telling you to just forgive your enemies - he's telling you to open yourself up to their attacks ('resist not evil') and then ask for more ('turn the other cheek')! And don't even think about defending yourself ('Put away your sword/He who lives by the sword dies by the sword')!

trying so hard to disprove chrictianity and the bible...

why?

why don't you go pick-up some other "holy" book abd start tearing that apart?

I guess you forgot about Jesus saying this:

Luke 22:36 And he said unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise a wallet; and he that hath none, let him sell his cloak, and buy a sword.

As a Teacher, Jesus was making a point as to how we should treat one another. He also stopped Peter from using the sword, so that Prophecy could be fulfilled.
It is not about NOT defending your life, as God commanded the Israeli's to fight their enemies many times.

But as referenced in Luke 22:36, He knew dark times were coming, again, in which we must defend ourselves.
Yet we should hate the fact that it is necessary, as It is the Devil nand his influence that causes Strife, Fighting and Wars, not God.

You forget to add that Jesus never meant for them to use the sword, he only told them to get it so it 'could be fulfilled' that he was 'numbered among the transgressors' (Luke 22:37) i.e if you carry a sword, youre a 'sinner'!

49When Jesus’ followers saw what was going to happen, they said, “Lord, should we strike with our swords?” 50And one of them struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his right ear.

51But Jesus answered, “No more of this!”

Re: Jesus' teachings are shameful and murderous!
Who wrote the bible? - is right! It certainly was not God or Jesus.
 Quoting: Tuff~Kooky

Demons-in-human-form wrote the bible. They like to masquerade as 'the chosen people of God'
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 5300916

again, if demons wrote it why does it premote goodness?
and why wouldnt Satan win in the end?
people that write of themselves often exagerate in their favor.
 Quoting: Krime 15335079

It only promotes goodness on the surface. Underneath its pure evil.

Satan won't win in the end despite his best efforts in writing the Bible.

YOU are the weak one.

What would be the point of explaining anything to you, you do not attempt to work it out for yourself and would not understand by the looks of it anyway.

Stop wasting my time.
 Quoting: Lotus Flower

lmao

And you still offer no explanation - BECAUSE YOU CAN'T!

Loser!
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 5300916

Seriously OP, are you all there? Only when you lose an argument you go down to the level of pond-life and start name-calling.

Great example you are - it really must suck to be you.

Apart from which, isn't it past your bedtime, school tomorrow haven't you?

Your comments have all been noted, don't call us, we'll call you when you have grown up a bit.
 Quoting: Lotus Flower

And you STILL offer no argument (only insults)!

That's the best you can do?

Pathetic!
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 5300916

I am not here to argue with you, you wouldn't know what I am talking about anyway, you only see what you want to see and only understand what you have been programmed to understand.

You are quite an amusing little thing really aren't you lmaolmaolmaolmao

Loving people who want to kill you is suicidal and only someone who'd want to see you get killed would give such advice!

MLK was a black racist who fought to gain rights and privileges for his own people at the cost of White peoples' rights and privileges.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 5300916

ROFL!
if they were loving they wouldnt want to kill you now would they?
take it like this:
if everybody loved their enemys, there would be no enemys.

btw, not all enemys want to kill, most just wanna stay away from eachother.
 Quoting: Krime 15335079

That's not true. Some people are pure evil/demonic and they hate God's children with a murderous hatred and no amount of 'loving them' will ever change that! They are evil-doers who have an inverted morality - the more evil and sick & depraved an act of theirs is, the more proud of themselves they are.
These are the kind of people that wrote your bible.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 5300916

no, those are the types of people that start threads such as this one. people without knowledge or understanding of the bible.
id almost bet you've never even read the bible.
 Quoting: Krime 15335079

You'd lose that bet! I've read the bible in its entirety! Have you? I doubt it! And I'm not a christian!

See, that's the problem with you christards, Christianity is equivalent to a software user agreement, nobody reads it, they just click 'I agree'!

I might be made to LOVE, but I am still human and I am still here today, sorry for you. The bible is a mix of truth and lies and put that way by man. Re: Jesus' teachings are shameful and murderous!
He doesn't want you to have hate in your heart. "Vengence is mine saith the Lord"

BUT if it came down to life or death you know God will give you the strength to do what you need to do. Some believe in being a martyr and that is their choice. The Catholic Bible has Jesus saying "If you have a coat, trade it for a sword" Remember God knows all about war and knows it's inevitable.

Jesus was trying to teach peace and love. But He also knew it was Utopian to think the world would suddenly be peaceful and heavenly. If he said "Kill you enemies" you would call him evil for that.
