Oh dear, you really are upset, aren't you? You've quite lost your sense of humor too. I'm seeing, through your tale here, two impressionable young people spooking the hell out of each other over a leaking door frame and a 'shifting house.' I hope you haven't already seen too many ghost and poltergeist movies; that just makes it worse. And then you come to GLP with your question, where the posters will surely add insult to injury.

I'm trying to imagine the Chinese landlady actually bothering to lube the door frame in the midst of preparations for an international trip, let alone over-lube it, but it's as good a guess as any. I hope you'll let us know here what it turns out to be.:)
