I once heard the offshore fault line that runs from Alaska down to California referred to as a "zipper" and once it starts to go, the quakes will work their way along the line...don't know if that is true or scientifically based...just thought it interesting had two in that region hours apart.

With China and Russia building up forces in Syria...a large earthquake in Cali is the last thing the US needs !

Russia and/or China could profit from a moment of vulnerability like this...
