Me, my daughter, her boyfriend & another friend are currently on a 17 day trip & Chicago was the 1st of our stays. We are currently on day 3 & our last day here. Got in the ghetto part of town the other day, one black guy wanted us to pay him for opening the door for us going into Subway. I told the kids when we leave just ignore him & keep walking. He saw us & tried to get us to come back but we got to my minivan & left the area.

We were in the heart of downtown Chicago yesterday because the 2 boys wanted to go up the Sears Tower to the sky deck. We dropped them off just a block away, talk about congested streets, there was barely enough room for a car to get thru the area. Cars running lights left & right, pedestrians ignoring cross walk lights & I can't believe how much people are RUDE here. Never again!

The black people here will push themselves in front of you & totally ignore you when you say "excuse me".

So quit worrying about gun restrictions you stupid fuck!

Worry about eliminating the black problem.

I live in Chicago and its a very fast paced city ..yes it is hard to relax in this area if you do not know how to adapt to it..if you can adapt to Chicago..you'll absolutely love it but its not for everyone. Chicago is one of these few cities in America that has its own set of ways and the wide diverse range of ethnic neighborhoods that is unlike any other city in America.



Exactly ..the crime here in Chicago is totally out of hand but the thing is..it has been t his way for many years honestly. Its nothing new...i remember in my late teens we had a heck of a lot more murders per year than what we have in recent years...but the politicians here are connected with the crime bosses and mob..believe that, Obama didn't learn how to be a sinister conniving person from watching movies..he's from Chicago..he learned what it means to be a Mobster directly from the mobs. Look at the history of Chicago's corrupted politicians..The gun laws and the police force here are twisted...

Chicago closed the 'projects' to gentrify the potentially valuable real estate, and the relocated negroes came thru the burbs like a blight. They did NOT assimilate here either, but the higher crime rates show they are here.
Spread/diversified housing eliminates the high concentrations of negroes that cause anxiety, but then the travon effect of break-in's and assaults happens.

Put the blame where the blame is due. over 240,000 Blacks bought houses after Clinton was president. Over 76,000 of those houses were foreclosed on and that was enough to cause the greatest economic collapse in American history. The Blacks did it all. You can not deny that fact.

She wound up in Albany with a black roommate from L.I. anyway. And next year it will be a hispanic and then maybe a chinese. They try to be apolitical. And there the learning ends. Follow the rules, don't go into the city at night, carry pepper spray, stay away from the black jocks, don't walk alone on campus unless its daylight hours etc etc.

I don't know if kids even get to choose their roommates. That Rutgers kid didn't and look what happened. Ravi got off light if you don't count never being accepted at another college in the US.

Ive read that Japan is starting to open the border with welcome arms to south american hispanic refugees and not only that but making it easy for them them to get licenses and not making it mandatory for them to speak Japanese.

Fear mongering at its best/worst. Have you spent time in Chicago? It definitely has its problems. It is, however, a vibrant world class metropolis that has so much to offer. I've lived in NYC, Chicago, and New Orleans. I feel safer in Chicago than I did in those other two cities. It's a shame. If people like you and the person who wrote the fear mongering article didn't over play your hand then maybe we as a society could discuss the actual problems and solutions.

Yup, should be pretty vibrant, it cost me $36 to park... just to go eat at a downtown Chicago restaurant Monday!

Naive ant-gun folks regularly point out that Japan is a non-violent nation due to it's lack of guns.

Knifes however are fairly abundant in Japan, yet there is virtually no knife crime. Baseball is very popular yet there are virtually no attacks with baseball bats. As pointed out earlier, the current generation of Japanese are a homogenous, non-violent, family-oriented society.

What has not been stated by the anti-gun crowd is the fact that the Japanese criminal justice system is heavily weighted against the perpetrator. Violent criminals gain far longer sentences for their crimes in Japan then they do in America. What's more, the shame brought upon one's family and one's self are even more of a deterrent (frequently resulting in suicide) than the stiff penalties for violent crime. Where was all the looting after the earthquake and tsunami last year ?

In America, non-White and Non-Asian crime account for the vast majority of violent incidents. The violent crime rate of illegal Hispanics surpasses that of even Blacks, -and that is saying something. The single most determining factor is ascertaining the level of violent crime in any given region is the percentage of Blacks and Hispanics vs. that of Whites and Asians. (Asians in America have even lower violent crime rates that their White counterparts.

I totally agree. I live in the burbs but we go into the city once a month...WHY?
