[link to www.mudrashram.com] I have been a yoga instructor since 1995 as well as a practitioner, and not once in all my years of asana have i channeled a spirit other than my own and no spirit has entered my psyche, body or soul. My hatha practice, asana, physical yoga, is strictly a discipline to balance my body and mind. Hence the origin of the word yoga, meaning union. While there are many yogic paths and philosophies the fundamental interpretation of Patanjali's Yoga Sutras thousand of years old, are concise and give no mention of channeling spirits of any kind. Read them for yourself if you will, best not to let others interpret great books for you as you may be misled..... |

Modern so-called 'yoga' is dishonest to Hindus and to all non-Hindus such as the Christians." Danda, Dharma Yoga Ashram (Classical Yoga Hindu Academy)" [link to www.lighthousetrailsresearch.com] This is a difficult topic for several reasons. First there's a general misunderstanding and even ignorance about people's OWN faith and also about everything foreign. I had the Christian brainwashing system teaching me everything about Hinduism or other religions is pagan and evil just to glorify Christianism, yet the documents of the Bible were in the hands of the very pagan Vatican which even owns banks and created Holy Inquisition, Crusades and has been involved in all wars. As a matter of fact they didn't include the Gospel of Thomas along with the other 4 and is quite similar except certain verses in which it's defied the chauvinist macho concept of deity. As a matter of fact jewish people rejected everything preached by Christ because his message looked pretty VEDANTA talking about the inner father, the light which illuminates the whole body, the praying in silence, the inner chambers, the I AM the path, the kingdom which is not outside like Jehovah's Witnesses imagine but within if we pay attention to Greek text, the "repent" which in Aramaic is "teshuva" meaning get back to yourself, the YOKE which is yuj or the equivalent of yoke in sanscrit, etc. etc, etc. I have done the yoga asanas and never got in contact with any entity and my breathing is better, the muscles and bones. I guess if Christians saw Messiah getting away from the 3 favorite disciples climbing up Hermon or Thabor and a cloud covered them and a couple of dead men Moses and Eliyah talking with him about FUTURE EVENTS in Jerusalem, they would treat Christ as a yogui consulting dead and want to stone them all, hence CHrist said " don't mention this to anyone"..... but Christians didn't even read the whole scripture from Genesis to Apocalypse except memorizing some verses and studying "topics", how would they understand deeper? And I have to confess there are different paths of yoga and perhaps some asanas and with certain mind antenna attitude could contact with something evil even when it has not been my experience.... now the Hndu gods look like cherubim mentioned in Ezekiel, don't they????? |

The man died. Everyone saying to do something out of the box will be exterminated. He and Krishnamurti basically said the systems don't help men but just a possibility which is very rare. This thing about Hinduism became -like everything in USA- a sort of Mc Donald consume, put in bags and sell the package of salvation. Even to master physical asanas is extremelly hard and usually western people only care about certain physical benefits. I mean if Rachel Welch preserves her beauty with yoga, women are gonna practice the superficial training just to,look like her and that was never the case in India. It's absurd the saying meditation is setting your mind in blank like watching a white screen in front of a movie theatre screen because the THOUGHTS arise and our mind is always thinking like a monkey jumping from one tree to another, endlessly. It's more OBSERVATON of the thoughts, as if they were clouds passing by and because of the observation there will be a change, the observer gets conscious of what is observed or thought, another perception, this is just a first step. In my experience doing Mind Silva method I saw visions, like Apocalypse much deeper than any stone trip with mushrooms or ayahuasca and I tell you this, I saw a black pit of darkness as if I were in a black hole and the FEAR made me consciously get of of there but closed a door and no key can open that ..... so, just few yoguis can tell about perils or advantages....... in a time where are no masters, what do you do? Christ message was not for the mob which is 90% of mankind, just for some disciples... and the transfiguration happen as a promise of witnessing the inner kingdom of God he did a week earlier.... you don't know anything, I don't know anything and few know something .... May the peace be with you, shalom, salaam..... |

They were doing the sun (worship) sign no doubt. It is impossible to worship the sun and Jesus too. I saw a picture of a daycare in my area on the front of the newspaper. The little tykes were all being taught yoga. Aww, how harmless and healthy is that? Underneath, it is read that the instructor was teaching them to do the sun sign, designed as a worship to the sun. They were all doing it in the picture. I nearly fell over. If you had complained (I did, I wrote the daycare), you would have been thought looney. That is the way you are treated these days. "Thou shalt have no other God before me" is a commandment. I was ostracized at a workplace a few years ago for not joining the company yoga class. I didn't even tell them why, but they knew I was a Christian and the pagans pushed and pushed and pushed me. It was part of my last days at that job. Really sick working environment. |

They were doing the sun (worship) sign no doubt. It is impossible to worship the sun and Jesus too. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1369739 I saw a picture of a daycare in my area on the front of the newspaper. It's called a Surya Namaskara,(sun salutation) It is not done to worship the sun it is the beginning of the Ashtanga series of yoga asanas,(postures) in order to generate heat aerobically to prepare the body for the deeper poses in the sequence. The same as process as any athlete who stretches prior to more vigorous physical discipline. There is no spiritual connotation, just a figure of speech to describe an action of physical yoga,(Hatha), which far predates all the major religions practiced in the western world at this juncture. No one is trying to trick you, yoga asana will make you healthier than you have ever been and give you more mental clarity and balance which you can freely use to improve whatever your religious conviction and practice. Hatha yoga was a physical method designed calm the mind to prepare the body for meditation, there were no dictates written in the sutras which dictate who one must meditate to of for. |
