EBT and Debit Down For Major Grocer

Just tried to use mine here at Publix at the Fishhawk location in Lithia FL and Debit was down. Could only use credit.

Same here in Connecticut. BIG Y super market. Credit/Debt and EBT were down. They were making people fill out slips with your CC# on it, address, DOB, SS# in order to make a purchase.

Also, at local gas stations. Gas pumps work with a CC or Debt, but can't buy anything at the cash register because those are down.

oh it won't be boring, it'll be full on war in the cities. i definitely do not want to stick around my neighborhood in the event of that happening.

This is a simple preview of what it would be like in a real crisis where electronic funny money no longer works, and for a while it will only be cash, and in a prolonged crisis it will be gold, silver, barter, and labor.

Don't forget the jobless claims spiked to 386,000 yesterday. And these are from people who JUST lost their jobs....

I am beginning to think they are trying to weed out the people who abuse their EBT.

I get $200 a month in food stamps. Go ahead and hate me for it. I live in a house with nine other people. Yearly income from everyone here is over $120,000 yet the state still says I can have food stamps. Look at it this way. The taxes this family pays in being returned in the form of food stamps.

the only info on foodstamps and debit cards being down is that one video on youtube with that guy
no news reports etc

I think you missed my point. An economic crash would be brutal for most people in the western world, HOWEVER compared to meteor strikes, sun brazing, plague or EMP doom WE AS A PEOPLE CAN WORK AROUND economic doom if we choose to. The other scenarios you cannot.

Go have a look for yourself, let us know what you find out, not what the 'news' tells you.

BTW.............there is NO Publix out this way.........and no Megiers and NO Aldies or any other of the places you noted as being down.

Decided to wait until after 2000 PST. Was allow to withdraw the remaining balance of the account minus $7.00.

Will bookmark this thread, going to make deposits and withdrawals over the weekend through to tuesday.

Will be doing the same with my accounts held at US Bank also. Will update if anything is amiss with my accounts.

I am on the pacific coast btw.
