You're welcome. I spent many years studying such things.

Some good links on this page, thank you all. My favorites list is about 5' long now.....the list I check every few hours from solar to earthquakes is about 10 pages.....

Re: Bering Sea - Surface Temperature Anomaly.
It's being caused by the rapid glacial melt in the area, also the rapid melting of the north polar cap, again. This had been increasing (in ice volume) in recent years. Whereas it was almost completely gone just a decade ago.
The chilled water, in much greater than normal quantities, is cooling the area. Increased melt is being caused by an increase in volcanic activity in the area. While the grounds around the volcanoes are warmer, it is not enough to offset the chilled water in relation to the influence on the Bearing sea. The glacial melts are warmer than they were, liquid instead of solid, but still give a net drop in Bearing sea ambient temps. There are also vastly increased levels of many forms of solar activities and radiations, also increasing the glacial melt. Later this will result in no chilled water and we'll fry. In other words, ice cubes and non-sweet tea is pouring in from the mountain tops.
See?

I would also direct your attention to the waters around Italy and Greece. There you have quite the opposite, the waters are 6* C WARMER than average due to all of the volcanic increased activity recently. The whole area is about to erupt violently.
Also off the coast of Peru, 5-6* C increase over normal ambient temps.
Also vastly increased volcanic activity in recent months.
Even though they too have had recent increases in glacial melts this area is more quickly distributed to the large body of the Pacific, which will diminish the evidence of the volcanic temp increase, and the resulting flows of chilled waters into the oceans. These are great hotspots with some of the largest volcanoes on earth. These too will soon see great cataclismic earth changes.
See?

The resolution of the chart wasn't brilliant but good enough for my liking to put St. Matthew Island at the very epicenter of the anomaly.

If HnryBwmn's suggestion is correct it could be a result of glacial melt on St Matthew island? Perhaps from the snow/ice deposits in two bad winters during a solar minimum and dimming from Shiveluch 2009.

As for the reindeer story, i think without any natural predators those sort of numbers were always going to be unsustainable, especially as they further deplete the island's resources and perhaps their own shelter by overgrazing. I wonder if maybe the reindeer would still be there if they introduced wolves as well. The strangest part for me is that of the surviving 40+ reindeer only one was male! That sounds anything but natural but maybe there's a reason i'm overlooking.

The bearing sea is continuing to warm. As are areas north of Central Canada, north of russia......and ne corner of Canada and Iceland....

Average temp will continue to climb.....around the US, Alaska and elsewhere.

Meanwhile people froze to death in Southern Africa......
This week....

By looking at the map used for this thread...and then looking at a map of earth quakes for just one week...they fall...about 90% in the cold areas...this could be the earths plates moving at a quicker rate than first thought just a few months ago...if so then could the earth crust displacement theory kick into action?...Seems more likely than not...

Re: Bering Sea - Surface Temperature Anomaly.
During the second world war, the US posted a small contingent on St Matthews Island, where this anomaly occured.

Just in case they were ever cut off from supply, a small herd of 29 rein deer were put on the island as a 'roaming food supply'.

The war ended, and the men were removed.

By 1957, the herd grew to 1300 animals, and bu 1960 to over 6000!

But when scientists returned in 1964, they found just 47.

It was determined that an extreme weather event occured on the island in February of 1963 that killed just about everything.

Maybe there's a correlation? A cycle perhaps. 49-50 years?
Maybe some way to link with electromagnetics of our atmosphere?

**EDIT - didnt see the above post. If a volcanic erruption occured back in the 60's then you would have another possible explaination.
