Had crossed my mind too. But how can there be two Millenium Falcons? That's just rediculous.

It's being caused by the rapid glacial melt in the area, also the rapid melting of the north polar cap, again. This had been increasing (in ice volume) in recent years. Whereas it was almost completely gone just a decade ago.
The chilled water, in much greater than normal quantities, is cooling the area. Increased melt is being caused by an increase in volcanic activity in the area. While the grounds around the volcanoes are warmer, it is not enough to offset the chilled water in relation to the influence on the Bearing sea. The glacial melts are warmer than they were, liquid instead of solid, but still give a net drop in Bearing sea ambient temps. There are also vastly increased levels of many forms of solar activities and radiations, also increasing the glacial melt. Later this will result in no chilled water and we'll fry. In other words, ice cubes and non-sweet tea is pouring in from the mountain tops.

I would also direct your attention to the waters around Italy and Greece. There you have quite the opposite, the waters are 6* C WARMER than average due to all of the volcanic increased activity recently. The whole area is about to erupt violently.
Also off the coast of Peru, 5-6* C increase over normal ambient temps.
Also vastly increased volcanic activity in recent months.
Even though they too have had recent increases in glacial melts this area is more quickly distributed to the large body of the Pacific, which will diminish the evidence of the volcanic temp increase, and the resulting flows of chilled waters into the oceans. These are great hotspots with some of the largest volcanoes on earth. These too will soon see great cataclismic earth changes.

OP, did you ever actually determine the epicentre?

Was it that island?

The resolution of the chart wasn't brilliant but good enough for my liking to put St. Matthew Island at the very epicenter of the anomaly.

If HnryBwmn's suggestion is correct it could be a result of glacial melt on St Matthew island? Perhaps from the snow/ice deposits in two bad winters during a solar minimum and dimming from Shiveluch 2009.

In some places it's colder and in some places it's hotter especially in water. I know from swimming.

During the second world war, the US posted a small contingent on St Matthews Island, where this anomaly occured.

Just in case they were ever cut off from supply, a small herd of 29 rein deer were put on the island as a 'roaming food supply'.

The war ended, and the men were removed.

By 1957, the herd grew to 1300 animals, and bu 1960 to over 6000!

But when scientists returned in 1964, they found just 47.

It was determined that an extreme weather event occured on the island in February of 1963 that killed just about everything.

Maybe there's a correlation? A cycle perhaps. 49-50 years?
Maybe some way to link with electromagnetics of our atmosphere?

Supreme localised cold spot 6 degrees Celcius below average in the Bering Sea. I have never seen such a strong anomaly.
