well. I've been in a SLIGHTLY similar situation.

I dated a guy who was in the process of getting a divorce.
(their relationship was very off and on apparently)

he had told me that the papers had already gone through.
he then cheated on me with her a few weeks after he got home from Afghanistan.
yeah. I waited for that scumbag to come home from Afghanistan.

he broke up with me (the night before my birthday, 8 hours from home)
and she told me about how they hooked up while we were still together. and that I shouldn't mess with a married man. and I was like.

"K. he's a douche bag? how is this my fault?
he lied to both of us."

he told me the papers went through, and they were no longer married.

he told HER. that
1. he never said he loved me (lie, he'd tell me every day.)
2. he never spent a DIME on me (absolute lie, he spent well over 500 on me.)
3. he told me that they were still married. she thought I knew. (lie)

sooooo. yeah. dunno if that helps.
