My gallbladder sucked so bad that I could only eat once around 5pm. I was too sick to my stomach in the morning, and at lunch I was too scared i would ruin the rest of my day at work. Just eat something with substance and make sure to drink lots during the day. War, War never changes... |

All those advertisements about breakfast being the most important meal of the day and you will have no energy if you skip breakfast are crap. I have too much energy, people always comment on how much energy I have. If anything big breakfast/lunch make me tired, and I cannot think. Any large meal will make you sluggish until it is at lease half way through the small intestines. |
| Anonymous Coward User ID: 15631479 06/23/2012 02:48 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I eat loads for breakfast, in fact its usually my biggest meal and sometimes my only meal. But breakfast for me consists of rice, stir fry veg/chicken ect and always some form of salad. Thai red curry is my favourite tho yummm yumm! I eat quite a lot in one sitting (well a large plateful). You can guarantee it gets your metabolism started and you never store fat because you use up all the calories during the day. I see the amount some people eat and it makes me puke - pure gluttony there. |

| Anonymous Coward User ID: 2557256 06/23/2012 03:28 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I used to eat a lot of food in a day when I was younger, was as thin as a rake though, but was quite active. Keeping active now, but find I only need one main meal a day, maybe the odd snack. Not hunger enough to eat when I'm awake, just NEED my Nescafe coffee first, even before I roll a spliff. Sometimes I don't even bother eating all day at all, very little.. if anything. Apart from the 'obvious' advice of losing weight via diet & exercise, another way to lose weight is to cut out big meals, just the essentials one needs in a snack. After big eating for a while, where the stomach has got bigger, the hunger pains begin to set in by the next day or two, till after a few days.. it's like 'agony' dealing with hunger pains. But, the stomach shrinks down & the hunger subsides. It's a bit like a 'withdrawal' stage. In fact, I've gone up to 3 weeks without eating any food, felt fine, if not a little weak tho'. Wanna lose weight you fat Americans? Put up the hunger pains for a few days.. & you won't be as hungry. Try it..! |

| Anonymous Coward User ID: 15631479 06/23/2012 04:34 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | yea eating one meal a day is good if you have the resources.. and good food. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 7138989 But all that coffee, and then not nourishing yourself, and smoking.. all that's not good for sexual health. Nor even mental/emotional.. How is eating one meal a day a drain on resources One cup of rice check Selection of veg from the local market check One chicken thigh check thats only a couple of quid, you could spend that much on one crappy burger. and as for the coffee and spliff thats standard for a non - fat bitch like me. (one coffee I say, one coffee). I am very healthy. My aura is lovely and clear. Im sure you can tell. |

| Anonymous Coward User ID: 1550123 06/23/2012 04:47 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I barely eat. I have digestive problems, one bread gets me full up. A meal possibly makes me puke because all the food don't go down. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 18419555 Maybe try a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in water and sip it for digestion problems. You can add honey to it if you like. Might want to check out the emotional things going on in your life as well. |

I have yet to meet a slim American, they think are large portions over here are small, greedy fat fucks Quoting: Anonymous Coward 18447286 If they ate only one meal then they were probably poor. Their lifestyle a few hundred years ago(and even 100 years ago) was more active than ours and they needed extra calories. It has been a custom of some to eat leftovers from the night before for breakfast. Or just have bread or cheese and tea. Lunch was probable more bread, cheese, maybe meat. And then dinner. People ate whenever they could long ago because they still had problems with famine. Food was always offered at people's houses and skinny wasn't in. Having weight on a person showed they had money and could survive a famine. For women it showed fertility. Everything is the opposite now. I know for my mom's family in the early 1900's there was a big breakfast because they worked on farms. The afternoon meal was also big and then leftovers for dinner of just bread and milk. This was the same for her relatives in the 1800's as well. Food has just been very important. But now without famine people are just getting really fat because we are still programmed to expect a famine that doesn't come. |

| Anonymous Coward User ID: 12339688 06/23/2012 05:15 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The only time I eat one meal a day is when I want to get really drunk. I'll eat lunch then drink all night Quoting: Anonymous Coward 18450673 Saves money. You get drunk quickeer with no food to absorb the alcohol. OP I did it because I was broke. Probably the best health I have ever been in. I didn't eat unless my blood sugar was dropping (dizzy) or my stomach was really really hungry. Although the efficiency of a person's metabolism makes a difference in the affect it has on them. Slow metabolisms can eat less often than those with a fast metabolism. I ate alot of M&Ms, grits, peas and hamburgers from the $1 menu with a water. I was the annoying $1.06 customer. Actually I was pretty content and seemed to survive just fine. |

| Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 10885457 06/23/2012 05:57 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | For those who say they eat one meal a day, do you eat anything at all during the day (like small snacks such as apples or other snacks)? Or do you just have your one meal and nothing else the entire day? I usually have 2 meals a day. Something around 11:00, like a bowl of soup or a muffin, and then dinner. I'm trying to cut the morning meal out just to save some money, but I get kind of woozy if I don't have something. |

Yah, food is so expensive. I keep total of how much I spend on food. Did it for a few months. It's crazy how much food costs. If you can eat once a day, it would really save money. |
